U.S. Airways tanks across the pond

People MUST forget all about "USAirways". We NO LONGER EXIST. We are America West with a new paint job.

USAir East I flew you out east long before the merger and you were a bunch of Lazy, unhelpful, arrogant, tools back then too. You have never tried to make things better, you all love your misery way too much and you decide you must share it with any and all. I'm amazed this place still exists and I hate the fact that Parker found a way to buy this abomination. He should have let it die.

Ouch! You certainly seem to be as miserable and nasty as the east folks - sort of like "calling the kettle black" don't you think?
 
I'm not bashing the HP product... it worked for what they were doing - mix of a network carrier in a huge o/d market competing with Southwest & the likes of National Airlines, etc.

but I wouldn't go as far as call our workforce those names. I've had issues with my fellow "easties", but its not nearly as "bad" as being left behind because a gate agent forgot to clear the standby list.. (going on 4 times for that one).
Guess that is what you call "stellar" customer service in your book at HP. Heaven forbid I'd hate to see how often this could happen to revenue customers.

I've stepped up, complained and whined to the people WHO CAN DO SOMETHING TO FIX IT and nothing happened. I've offered suggestions and provided proof of things that need to be corrected or addressed. The response was, "we dont do it that way, we dont have time to look at problems like that, send it in via QIKFIX". These had NOTHING to do with the computer, but thats the ONLY way Tempe wants items sent in. That way THEY can say they never got them so they didnt know there was a problem. Now who isnt doing anything to improve the product?
Since I've tried to do my part and its gotten nowhere, WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO NOW? Give me a name at AMERICA WEST of someone who actually cares, is interested in fixing things and who has the power to do more than throw them in the trash. I'll be waiting for a name and comat address. If that doesnt happen, then shut the yap cause things ARE NOT HAPPENING on the East side of the operation like they are on the WEST and those who ONLY work the WEST have no idea what its like being given cr*p to work with and being told constantly that things are going swell.

Gimme a break.....Parker and Morons are responsible for all this mess! I've been flying T/A trips all summer and have been waiting for an article like this to FINALLY come out! Our T/A service is the MOST unreliable, unpredictable, and embarrassing I've ever seen! Back in BK pre AmericaWorst, T/A was the best this airline had ever seen, with all focus on customers and product offered. Granted it wasn't the best in the Industry, bar a far cry from what is is today! This is exactly what Tempe mangement needs....exposure....they do not know how to run a big airline with a TransAtlantic presence! :down:

Just a handful of Newark departure stats from 6/15 - 8/15 for CO. Maybe Joe should have done a comparison of ops at other NE airports since weather has been pretty brutal in late afternoons, thereby affecting an entire region. Not to defend US, but it'd be interesting to see how the two airlines stacked up since EWR and PHL are often affected by similar weather.

Oh WHERE Does one begin.......First of all, most of the East (both customer and employees) have NO beefs with the West (customer or employee). There IS a difference in the clientele that the respective carriers served and the type of product delivered. The former USAirways does NOT exist in ANY Way,Shape or Form......and on that note, since Wolf left it has never been at the level IT WAS. I have noticed the OPERATION of the airline tanked when Scott Kirby was named President........it's been ALL DOWN HILL since his promotion. Parker can't be blamed for everything but HE is in a position to MAKE the Changes. Parker's aspirations to run a Big Airline appear to be MORE Than He Can Handle........the much larger domestic multi hub system (PHL/CLT/PHX), that abortion of a hub called Vegas, a large Caribbean network and a TransAtl operation that was inexplicably grown without the "right" equipment have only complicated things. I can't even fathom what the hell would have developed "IF" they would have succeeded in Taking over Delta! And Team Tempe wants to go to China? These SOB's couldn't be trusted to buy a 12pak of CHINET plates at a WalMart! So as far as THIS OPERATIONAL MESS of An Airline, IT IS THE MANAGEMENT TEAM of AWA that is "RUNNING THIS SHOW"...........and it is a pretty DISGUSTING, DESPICABLE. NASTY. RAG-TAG. CHEAP *SS Circus! Hopefully the BOD turns up the heat under Dougie's *ss because Changes are LONG OVERDUE for everyone's sake.

Is this the same airline that had the passenger service agents top out at $13.09hour at HP and that was done on merit very few reach top of the pay scale . The HP agents love the east USAirways union negotiated pay raise.
 
No matter what the feelings were prior to the "dumbbell merger" we are the new US Airways. If you are east or west it is now a mood point; our fight is now with HQ. How long can we as employees sit back and watch a third rate management team try to operate an international airline? We need to focus on the product and service that we as employees provide to the traveling public. Major mistakes have taken place and instead of corrections we recieve excuses and blame. The product has sunk to a new low. A smile from the flight crew cannot make up for a one day delay in the UK. I joined US as a safety professional and now have become a salesman for any and every product management can fit on board. If the higher pay checks would put as much care and concern into the product as they do into pedaling their cheap flea market goods we would have somewhat of a comparable T/A product. This article tells me that it is time for the work groups to stop fighting each other and start fighting Tempe. At times it feels as though we have become the Eastern of the 21st century. Our time is slowly slipping away; we must as one group say enough is enough and hold the Sand Castle responsible for the demise of the combined airline. Small changes and a better atttiude would make a vast improvemennt with our customer base. Now that most airlines are on the same playing field it is no longer about the price of a ticket. It comes down to will I make my schedule time into a city, what does the airline have to offer and will my bags make it unmolested. In all 3 areas we are far behind the national and international standards. I hope one day that I can be proud to say that I work for US Airways as I was once. My focus is not who bought who or how different East versus West is. My focus is how we can improve the product and dump current management.

okay I am a proud westie...but this has nada to do with work groups...it has to do with the poor managment team....there was a time I was embarrassed to work for HP...we got through it over several years....now I am back to where I started--embarrassed to work here...we are one now and it is not gonna change...I have embraced this fact...I have extended my hands to all fellow co-workers...helped all commuting non revs....parker promised us job security and that was his main reason for doing this...........
do you feel secure in your job??? I don't!! Do you think we will be around few years?! I am now having to face the job security question....BTW did tempe ever respond to the USA today article???
