I think the monthly is lower and the yearly co pay is lower also. And the doctor visit co pay is lower. I also think the prescriptions are lower too. I only know this because I have checked it all out...but, I dont know if they are gonna give us the rate in 2007 or we may have to wait until we are all under one complete contract. Not sure how all that will work out. Lets all hope for the best. I honestly think West has a better option with their insurance.
 
each time I have an ov with an orthopedist its 40.00..

looking to the cup being 1/2 full and hoping for lower payments..

A personal friend of mine is an MD and he accepts BCBS and UHC at his practice. He prefers BCBS from a doctors point of view. He said UHC was very slow to pay him and they wanted to micro-manage the way he treated patients much more than BCBS.

UHC has always paid quickly. I have had no problems with UHC.
 
USAir had them in the past- you do have to continue to call as a 'reminder'to process the claim and pay!

Another cost cutter on managements part-bet they DO NOT HAVE UHC>
 
SAw the new rates for 07 on the board today-I was naive' to think the rates would be a bit lower then BC/BS..

Increase of 20.00 per month.
Co payments stayed the same or increased..No bargain.
Wonder who thought this ****$()& up?!

Notice at the top page, this does include East pilots, or Directors, well of course not!

I wish mine was only going up $20. Partime EMP+Spouse on Old West plan was $140.00 now it will be $342.00 CWA/IBT. With the Union dues plus the added insurance cost, I will be taking home less cash than before the new Contract.

I forget to add the $450 deductible and higher copays also.

Since old US self-insured (and presumably the new US also), the company had to release the money before whoever handles claims could pay them. I had the same problem with BCBS at times - waiting for US to release the funds.

You've just got to remember to ask "Cost effective for whom?". I would certainly expect that the switch to UHC is cost effective for the company.....

My friend thats over at west does not pay more than BC/BS. Where are you reading(Wench) that we are gonna pay $20 more per month? Are you a flight attendant? The yearly deductable is less too. I guess we will see soon. They are gonna be in the PHL B6 crew room ALL day on the 5th and 6th to answer questions. I will be there. So..I will find out .

The rate I saw is not $171. Is that for you alone? Or with husband/wife/partner? Or with child? That sounds high. The rate, if I can remember correctly for single is around $76 a month.(%100 PPO)

They are in the PHL crew room tday and tomorrow and I will be there tomorrow to figure this all out. Because it seems like US East may pay more than West. Just by what everyone is saying. I know my friend pays less...but can they have us(east) paying more??
 
Finally-after weeks of spec, 342 p/t is the correct amt.

I JUST dont get it- More employees--+ HIGHER PREMIUMS?

Should be MORE EMPLOYEES= LOWER PREMIUMS!

Group, this CEO IS no bargain=just like the past CEO's.
