United to merge with US AIRWAYS rumor

I never watched bevis and butthead so I am going to have to ask my son on that one.

I am well informed and I wish that I could tell you how 😉 Lets just say that Doug was told, I was there at the time!

1) I'll confess that I've actually seen Beavis and B-tthead, so the referenced imagery to your posting came easilly.

2)"I am well informed and I wish that I could tell you how". Ummm....Yeeeaah. If you ARE "well informed"...I'm still all ears as to any answer as per the current, or future "strategy"?....as if such doesn't include any additional mergers. I fully understand that, given your ultra-secret sources...you'll have to shoot me afterwards...but I'd still like to know.

If being in ORD is the last thing Doug does consider it a parting gift. Don't let the door hit him on the way out!

Anything is possible in this CRAZY industry.....the regieme in Tempe should NOT be in charge regardless. WE HAVE SEEN WHAT THEY ARE CAPABLE OF DOING.

My brother-in-law is a 10 year F/A for UAL and it is really comforting to me to hear the same kind of B*tchig going on about UAL.
No matter who you are UAL or LCC,etc there seems to be the general thinking that this is the worst and "we suck" kind of attitude. (I by no means speak for any UAL employee except my brother-in-law.) We do suck and so do many other of the legacy airlines.
Perception is reality and I think that many people from other airlines may be perceiving the same things. It looks like things are going to hell in a hand basket but maybe that may not be true. What looks bad to a UAL F/A sure looks good to a LCC F/A.
To quote Bugs Bunny- "I've been down so long it looks like up to me."

Well East, I would start planning on another merger partner and soon.

I am curious now so I am renting some bevis and butthead on Monday. I hope for your sake it's good cause if it ain't I am going to talk about you like dog  Hell I may just do that anyway

?????WTF is this?

If US Airways was in such lousy shape, then why did Doug buy them? None of your posts want to address this one issue, but rather, want to blame the employees, especially east pilots, for the current situation. I STILL believe that what Doug said earlier was correct, that both of these failing companies needed each other. If thay hadn't merged, I'll bet NEITHER would be around right now. Go ahead, try to yell and scream about how good things were at AW, even though we know you're wrong about that.

Now, back to lurking....

Good point. As much as we "hate" each other. It is doubtful anyone on either side would be working in their current position without the merger. The merger may have worked if we did not have monkey's running the show in Tempe .... a lot of us had a lot of hope. But alas, now all we have is broken down, poorly run, pile of dog poo.

Personally, I am hoping this will happen. Eliminate the idiots in Tempe once and for all!

From experience, I don't think this is a reasonable assumption. Not so very long ago many of the east USAirways folks were smugly cheering at the loss of the idiots in Crystal City.

As they say...out of the frying pan, into the fire.

On another related note....

From the looks of the USA Today article (18 Jun 2007) on the front page of the Money Section, we will have a great struggle trying to maintain our standings in the Consumer Reports poll. Looks like to UAL folks are reading from Doogie's play book and trying to knock us out of last places (17 and 16) for customer service. We can't let that happen, can we?

Hahahahahahah    United didn't want to be bothered with AAA either!! Go over to their board and ask them!

I would, but then we already know that you have a big L stamped on your forehead.

It was the UAL board that actually approved the merger the first time, not that you seem bothered by a lack of facts supporting your comments. In fact, if you can read, the appropriate UAL quarterly report states that they actually were the one initiating the transaction, but then, as I said before, facts seem alien to your world.
