Just because this rumor came out of PHL? Could be UA in PHL.
It's all in the eye of the beholder. FLY, but I don't think UA is such a "hot guy" anyway.

UA is a BUTTERFACE

UA may not be a "hot guy" exactly, but to borrow a delightful phrase from Fly, US (at least in its current state) is an abortion.

A merge is coming !!!!!! it overlaps routes by 6%....a perfect fit. This is in PHILLY AIRPORT.
Except the DOT doesn't look at routes, they look at markets (city pairs) where the overlap is a lot greater. If you overlay one route map on top of the other, almost none of the lines would overlap except those between US hubs and UA hubs. However, if you look at markets (city-pairs) that both serve, there a bunch of overlap.

Take something like PVD-SFO. The routes US and UA use to serve that market don't overlap, yet the market is served by both carriers.

If you're talking about labor relations, 'abortion" may describe it. Otherwise US is running okay, not great, just okay.
Industry average stuff, nothing to brag much about.
I'm always amazed by the US I see while at work versus the US I see described on US Aviation.

US sucks, the drunks running this ship aground couldn't fight their way into an open bag of Schlitz beer. Please buy this wreck and save some of us from the utter humiliation of the slow death being imposed by the sand castle in Phoenix.

Regards, T-bone

UA has its own problems.. their employees are pretty unhappy themselves just talk to them they say UA is good at keeping its employee promblems as private as possible.. believe me their F/A s cant stand management and never have and they also can keep CSA agents and thanks to the last merger try since then the UA pilots changed the ALPA bylaws concerning the seniority issue so if they were to merge with anyone they would be protected.. that is why the US pilots are having issues with the EAST and WEST pilot groups.. The US pilot group at the last merger try was much more senior than the UA folks. and please UA supporters you may fly to the Orient and fly here and there but believe me your PRODUCT isnt so great either.. When US won awards for its international business class and inflight magazines etc UA with all your experience was not even close and UA never is close when it comes to any major recognition domestic or international.. you have problems just that you have worked the art that WN has .. dont have diarehhea of the mouth when you have problems keep them to yourselves..
