Since Parker has not been able to combine both East and West. What do you think the possibility of splitting EAST and WEST. God knows the pilots are still split and there is no end in sight. The FA are both still on seperate contracts. Parker is in big favor of consolidation. AA has stated they do not want US. UA had their chance but UA CEO referred to US AIRWAYS of the ugly step sister. Something has to give oil prices are climbing. AA is forecasted to loser over 1 BILLION for 2011. What are everyone's thoughts.

Everything has been combined except Pilots and Flight attendants.

The maintenance dept. operates under the same contract. Its still two different operations East/West.

No its not, the West and East planes are under one maintenance program, its not two separate maintenance operations.

Though the pilots and flight attendants are under seperate contract with no obvious end in sight, the company is for all intent and purposes ONE. There will be no splitting the company as it's on ONE operating certificate as much as some may fantasize about it or find it a resolution. Now there is NOTHING to prevent the company from closing up shop in a hub. Um HELLO? Don't understimate the group behind the curtain. That is one thing we should all have come to agree on.

It won't happen short of a merger, and if a merger comes along any split won't be along East/West lines.

Maintenance workers work under a single contract but the actual aircraft maintenace program is still an EAST or WEST thing. Pull up a manual or job card etc. there is still a lot to combine but probably never will because it cost money and the company really doesn't have to.

The "one operating certificate" keeps popping up in these discussions about splitting up.

I'm not saying that there will be a split, but let's stop using that factor to bolster the argument.

When Trump bought the EAL Shuttle, EAL and its Shuttle was one operating certificate. Did that hinder the deal in any way?

Remember the deal Wolf put together with Johnson UAL and Potomac
After the pending US Airways/United merger Potomac was to be turned over to Bob Johnson and renamed, "DCAir".

NYC bus drive think so much alike it's scary 🙂

The one operating certificate means nothing.. If corporate wants to split it they will...

but if I was in charge and an opportunity arose to split this pig, I would in a second... Solve lots of problems...

Spot on Crazy.

Tempe is dragging this out for the $$, not just saving labor $$, but the option to fragment $$. They have stated more than once this place will be merged (fragmented) $$ within 5 years..........

Triple Play, chump change.
