US AIRWAYS EAST and WEST SPLIT

I can't BELIEVE, no wait yes I can that employees would still argue over who aquired who and who save who. Look around people. You are working for a company that did NOT have your (east or west) best interest at heart. We all know how it financially broke down and NEITHER airline had a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of. Moving along. And as for the "aquired" part..... YEP, stand up for your leader. 🙄 I wouldn't even admit who I worked for if I were you. The employees of US are in it together though seperated by contracts. Get over it. The likes of the "new" Delta and the "new" United will be laughing their hoonies off at this jackass piddley merger. 🙄

Ain't that the truth! We were in bankruptcy and they didn't have two nickels to rub together.... Yes, everyone needs to get over their issues and move along.
 
Back at ya. I can't wait until Southwest Airlines, you know the one who acquired Airtran. The airline based in Atlanta and Dallas shuts down CLT. That would be funny.

Since Parker has not been able to combine both East and West. What do you think the possibility of splitting EAST and WEST. God knows the pilots are still split and there is no end in sight. The FA are both still on seperate contracts. Parker is in big favor of consolidation. AA has stated they do not want US. UA had their chance but UA CEO referred to US AIRWAYS of the ugly step sister. Something has to give oil prices are climbing. AA is forecasted to loser over 1 BILLION for 2011. What are everyone's thoughts.

It is a stupid thread aka PHX non slot allocated, anyone can come in and set up a hub, it's value is what? No origination destination traffic( LUV) locks that down, so who would want it? ALASKA yea right? Cheaper to buy airplanes and expand! DEAD HUB, DEAD MARKET!

Wouldn't it be nice if the "new" USAirways could be a tough competitor that made the competition sweat a little? US puts absolutely NO MUSCLE in their operation. They will NEVER truly "beat" Southwest in PHX but simply tread water. You hear comments about other carriers like, "Don't even THINK about going into MIA or AA will eat you alive" or "Don't try it with Delta or they will force you out of the market". Who runs, hides and fears US? Ummmmmm I think that would be a nobody. All said, this truly is a stupid thread that solves no purpose. US is considered ONE CARRIER for better or worse. It's done regardless of the unrest in employee groups namely the pilot debacle. We'll colonize MARS before we ever, ever, ever see them together as one. Nobody is selling off anything. 🙄

PIT didn't do so well against WN, in fact people now depend on WN to get to work.

Maybe it has something to do with living in the Nome, AK of the east.

Living with and surviving the 800 lbs. gorilla for years is something maybe we should learn from. PIT didn't seem to last as long as PHX. Maybe they should discontinue service to PHX. You know how it goes...you can't get there from here, but when you don't go anywhere anyway does it really matter?

If I remember right Alaska wanted to buy AWA prior to the merger to help fend off the possibility of a hostile takeover. Mr. Parker didn't want to have to step aside/down though. Thanks Doug, I coulda been an Eskimo. 🙁
 
Sorry, your company was aquired and is now based in Tempe, AZ. The West, where CA and New Mexico is located, not PA or North Carolina.

I'll tell you what is skimpy, skippy. It's that so-called union, I think the name is USAPA. It can kiss my Westie rear end.

The difference between CLT & PIT is that CLT knows who butters it's bread, PIT had to build a billion dollar airport and gouge the F out of US..If it were not for the AirTran buyout LUV would have never entered the CLT market, the airport director did a good job keeping them out, of course at the expense of the flying public....

The terminal was built at US' insistence and largely to US' specs...US even insisted that the old terminal be demolished so no lcc could use it, ala People Express in EWR.

In the history of airline mergers, has there every been a deal done to split 1 carriers hubs and merge with 2 different carriers? I've never heard it done. People keep bringing up splitting up US Airways and it just doesn't work that way.
