US AIRWAYS EAST and WEST SPLIT

Being on the NC and at CCY, there was a stand alone back up plan that GECAS and the ATSB had approved. It would have been a smaller US Airways.

Complete nonsense.

There was nothing. AAA had missed payroll in the summer and AWA had to cover so they wouldn't liquidate prior to September.

Your info is incorrect, US filed Chapter 11 in October of 2004, we negotiated till the end of January, and were using the ATSB funds to operate the airline.

Prove your accusations. The merger was agreed to in May of 2005 and funded by money raised by US not HP.

HP did not infuse any cash to US as they didnt even have money to merge and if HP paid US money it would have to be reported to the SEC and approved by the Bankruptcy Court, so your wrong. US' POR was approved on 9/16/05 and emerged from bankruptcy on the 25th.

Try again and dont let the facts get in your way.

Yes there was initially and it wasn't a back-up plan but the only plan when US entered BK. But as the money ran out that plan became unworkable - US couldn't survive long enough to make the transition to a smaller, low cost carrier. So by March the plan changed - merge or disappear. HP was the only other party that said yes.

Its too bad hindsite is 20/20.....

Disapearing, would have benefitted most everyone on both sides....

Had we only known.... :-(

Still waiting TOGO, prove your accusations or admit you made them up!

I agree, and I posted facts if HP gave US a cash infusion to make payroll it would have to be reported to the SEC and approved by the Bankruptcy court as the two companies were not merged yet.

Been almost 24 hours and still waiting for the proof.

No reason to split. The way things are going there won't be any contract negotiations that increase pay or benefits so it will eventually save the Company money.
I see nothing at this point to suggest a split. Sure there would be some obstacles but what provision would prohibit a split? If an advantage could be gained by splitting USAirways it will be attempted.

Still waiting TOGO to prove your statements.

Hey knucklehead, chill....

Maybe TOGO does not care to debate a child sitting in a corner sucking on his/her thumb. You can't handle the truth. Are you still trying to convince people that Us Scare aquired HP, hired DP as the CEO and moved to Tempe?

How about a little review:

America West Holdings Corporation was an Arizona - based company whose primary holding was America West Airlines. During its acquisition of US Airways, AmericaWest's parent company adopted the name of its competitors parent company, which at the time had the name "US Air Group" and which subsequently became the US Airways Group Inc., after the merger.

America West's corporate offices in Tempe were housed in one of the first commercial high-rise buildings constructed in the downtown area, featuring an "airfoil" motif in the shape of its roof.

On May 19, 2005, America West Holdings Corporation announced it would acquire the Arlington County, Virginia based US Airways Group. The new entity is named US Airways Group and is based in America West's former corporate offices in Tempe, AZ. US Airways Group corporate offices in Virginia were closed, and most US Airways management were laid off. America West CEO Doug Parker became CEO of the merged companies, and his management team remains in control.
