US Airways: No Immediate Plans To Cut More 737s From Fleet

This is good news. They could for example stop all RDU / LGA express flights and do 2 or 3 737 runs between RDU and LGA. This would be a lower cost product.

Well this is certainly some encouraging news for a change. I am so tired of the impending black cloud overhead, wondering if there are going to be furloughs and having everyone on my trips say, "Yeah welcome back, you know you're just getting furloughed again in September". True or not, it's so depressing to hear all the time, and hard to maintain a positive attitude around people like this. <_<

What attitude would you suppose these people had? You just returned and are getting a small taste of what things are like. Imagine 6 years of this nonstop. You would have checked out a long time ago as well.
And you think this management will not try something through the backdoor people are nuts. Sorry, I put my rose colored glass down a long time ago. Everytime you see hope they f it up royally and squash it just because they are inept.

Certainly no rose colored glasses here. I can clearly see this management for what they are - a blithering bunch of buffoons. But what does it help to spread the negativity around? I say keep it to yourself when you're sharing the jumpseat with me. I don't want to hear Allegheny F/A with 1979 Seniority complain that he/she will no longer be able to hold CDG or MAD. Cry me a river. I have my own problems and worries (which include being furloughed again after only 6 months back). Making ends meet on this pay is hard enough, but you won't hear me complain about it. Why?? Because I chose to be here, just like all the rest. Everyone has their own reason to either stay or go, but please keep the misery, doom and gloom away from me, because I'm trying my best with what I have to work with.

Maybe....just MAYBE all the cuts that USairways had done through two bankruptcies beats the others to the punch. Hell before 911 we were much bigger than the "New" Usairways combined. As far as mainline goes on the east I think we are about as bare bones as we could possibly be. Not much fat to trip IMO.

I might be asking a retarded question, but what's going to replace the 737's if we dont have them and since we don't have enough credit to buy a cheeseburger, where will the dinero come from? Can we hump with air tran or something and take their 727? ha ha ha...what? That's counter productive? My bad...that's how we roll....

Rolls? Not for me sweety, I don't do carbs...

Uhh AirTran flies 717-200s and 737-700s...maybe US Airways could hump them but they better do what AA did to TWA and furlough anyone junior to Betty in PIT...besides these AirTrash folks have an nasty attitude.

No, my most favorite pilot in the whole world is Air Tran. His attitude is fantastic. And their colors are prettty. That's how I pick my favorite team.

Mainly the E190's. They'll be paid for by borrowing against each one as they arrive.
