Us Airways Says Woes Increasing, Cites Fuel

Bottom line is when fuel goes up, ticket prices should go up.

I am sorry, but I don't want my paycheck subsidizing ticket prices.

Oil companies raise gas prices, why can't airlines?

Simply put, it is the same reason most people select regular grade gas vs mid and premium. It is only about a .05 between the grades but that difference is what make regular the highest seller.

Unfortunately when one raises ticket fares there is always someone that screws it all up by not joining.

The difference could be a penny, and most people would still choose regular. There is no need to buy more octane if your car doesn't need it. That's just a waste of money.

You make it sound like an airline cartel is a good thing.
