Plane plunges off runway in fog

A PLANE carrying 87 passengers and six crew has crashed into trees after sliding off a landing strip in Brazil.
No injuries were reported after the accident at the international airport of the Amazon city of Rio Branco, 2980kms north-west of Rio de Janeiro.
The pilot lost sight of the runway after landing due to thick fog, according to an airline official who asked not to be named.
The wheels broke off the Boeing 737, operated by Brazil''s VASP airline.
All of the passengers and crew members were evacuated safely, officials said
