What's new

Voted IN

I would also like to offer my apology to Bob Owens, Ken MacTiernan, Gary Peterson and all the line stations that needed this thing to fail. I would also like to apologize to the DFW Dozen who made the trip up here to help us. You can educate and give out the facts, but you can't fix stupid.

Will we EVER know if this was an honest count? i.e that the master list of eligible voters was accurate?

The sad truth is that Tulsa carried this vote. There weren't enough of us who voted no. 514 was successful in their plan to spread fear and misinformation. Now the officers will probably get appointed to international positions. Payback for the biggest sellout of all time. Wait till you find out how many voted yes for the buyout and then realize they can't afford to take it and retire. More than 48 I'll bet. No wonder people make fun of Oklahoma. I know, I know, I am whining, but we just screwed the entire industry. AA is just waiting to get us again in 10 years. Yeah, I said 10 years.

Nah I think 8 is more likely unless we start the vote no thing again on the next contract in which case it could be 10+ years.

Bob, I think it's time to send you an AMFA card!------- I think informer would love to do that!!! What do you say Bob! Had enough? As for the numbers, are you really surprised?
IIRC, Bob was blackballed by the TWU for dual unionism.
I wouldn't blame him for for telling everyone to KMA.

Now you have a 10 year contract (6 years + 4 years negotiating).
Best to you all

WTF
Thanks for posting Chuck

Locals 562 and 565. Very impressive, especially with 565 having an overhaul base. My thanks to Bob and Gary and their members for really stepping up.

561, 563, and 564...rather disappointing for line stations. If they had numbers close to 565, this contract goes down in a big way.

And no, I do not know how we did yet. No word from Larry and the boys yet.

Meanwhile little jimmy and his merry band of reprobates are celebrating because they are still going to keep their 250k salries and guarenteed pensions.

TWUMembersatAmericanAirlines Ratify AgreementsforMechanics and Relatedand Stores Published on August 8th, 2012

Dallas — Members of the Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) at two American Airlines bargaining units have voted to ratify new contract agreements which reduce the concessions demanded by AMR, the airline’s parent company. AMR has been in bankruptcy reorganization since November of 2011.

TWU members at American Airlines who work in Mechanics and Related classifications (M&R) voted in favor of the agreement by a vote of 50.25 percent to 49.75 percent. Stores workers, who work closely with mechanics handling inventory and materials for aircraft maintenance, voted in favor of the new agreement by 79 percent to 21 percent.

“There is a lot of frustration associated with this entire bankruptcy process, which is designed to facilitate concessions and to ensure the reorganization of the debtor, rather than advance the interests of working people,” said TWU International President James C. Little. “That is how it has worked in every airline bankruptcy. Our goal has been to maintain our options and lessen the impact on our members, and these agreements are part of that process. Nobody is happy with a concessionary agreement, and our members are still waiting to see a business plan that instills confidence. But this result a lot better than what our members would have faced with a court-imposed solution.”

The ratified agreements include a three percent pay raise upon signing for M&R workers and three and-a-half percent for Stores workers. Health insurance coverage has been improved from the previous company offer. The six-year agreement includes a market readjustment, based on average industry compensation after 36 months.

For TWU members in the M&R bargaining units, the ratified agreements will reduce overall concessions by $54 million, from $210 million to $156 million. For TWU members in the Stores bargaining unit, concessions are reduced by $4.51 million, from $18.1 million to $13.59 million.

With this vote, these two TWU work groups join the other five TWU groups in making a very difficult decision given the bankruptcy process. All seven TWU work groups at American Airlines now have ratified labor agreements. Fleet Service Clerks, Dispatchers, Ground School Instructors, Maintenance Control Technicians, and Simulator Technicians reached agreements in May, and improved them in June, based on the me-too clauses which are now in all seven agreements.

My question is: Why all of you guys who were so convinced to vote NO on the 2010 TA are willing to vote yes for this TA which is only the begninning of the DESTRUCTION to OUR PROFESSION? If we would have passed the 2010 TA, I TRULY BELIEVE we would be in a MUCH BETTER position today after reatifying this INSULTING TA. What is wrong with you guys, then we have all these AMFA supporters. My GOD Brothers and Sisters the proof is in the pudding. Simply look what AMFA has done for who they now represent. In two simple words: MUCH WORSE!!!!!!! Wake up my Brother’s and Sister’s WE need to get SMART here and fight for our profession, but VOTING AMFA in…..REALLY??????? My GOD simply LOOK at their track record…..it’s very simple, just do a tiny bit of research. I am NOT backing TWU at the same time here. I don’t know what the ANSWER is, except for the FACT AMFA IS NOT the ANSWER…….Wake UP Brother’s and Sister’s and SIMPLY RESEARCH THEIR TRACK RECORD!!!!!!!! They have NO MONEY to fight whith if NEEDED and that is their ONLY MOTIVATION to organize and become the Union for AA!!!!!!!! Come on guys WAKE UP……Do a little research….PLEASE!!!!!!! We are in HUGE trouble just as much now as before ratifying this TA…….which is almost hilarious when the majority of you voted down the 2010 TA. This 2012 is far worse than the 2010 TA by LEAPS and BOUNDS, yet you guys actually ratified this TA!!!!!!! Huh???????????????? Maybe some of you, NO A LOT OF YOU NEED TO RELEAIZE the state of the Economy and YOU maintaining some sort of CAREER!!!!!!! WAKE UP!!!!!!!! PLEASE Brothers and Sisters USE YOUR BRAINS………and NOT your spoiled ways!!!!!!!!!

You all need to stop and think who the real problem is in negotiations!!!

At every turn Bob and his followers were constantly going around the rest of the negotiators and going straight to the company and telling them not to listen to the rest. Bob and his followers were bad mouthing AA and the International on a regular basis. If you want to blame somebody, you need to blame these few negotiators who don’t know how to keep their mouth shut and respect the process!!! The process was discussed and agreed with by the Negotiators, Bob and his followers should have respect it!!!

Bob and his followers are constantly destroying our profession and have been in the minority on just about every thing they have pursued!! Whether it was supporting the many different associations or attempting to negotiate with AA by circumventing the process!!!

If you are so unhappy here at AA then quit and go someplace that you will be happy with!!!!

The membership has spoken and you all should respect their wishes and stop trying to cram your agendas down our throats!!!

I firmly believe Bob and his followers have cost this membership dearly!!!! If the negotiators would have spoken as one! I believe we would have come out with a better contract!!

Bob and his cult (kool-aid drinkers) do not have a clue how to negotiate, But Hey!! They are great at destroying our profession here at AA!!!!

It won't matter what Tulsa thinks in a few years. There will be more line mechs than O/H. I see the engine shop and landing gear shop, composite shop and a few hangars so they can keep OSMs working. Of course without any language written in the contract we were so smart to ratify, OSMs could be in the engine shop, landing gear and composite shop too. That's the beauty of it, the stupidity will keep compounding as they add more concessionary work rules into the blank parts of the T/A. Who's gonna stop them? If the line guys want AMFA then we are along for the ride, just like they are along for this one.

CIO, I can say with certainty that your a blithering idiot and are 180 degrees out of phase with reality.

Negotiate, you make me laugh. The TWU has not negotiated anything but accepting concession demands from the company. I guess your "fight like hell" was just words as usual? It is sad when the great powerful TWU of 200,000 members and AFL/CIO stands by and watch the company push the TWU around like a playground bully.
Respect what process? the TWU and AA start early openers and drag their feet for 3 plus years. remember meeting once a month and skipping months, no urgency.
then the TWU and the company claim they have been in negotiations for 3 years while the committee drank the kool aid and told their members they were negotiating.
the kool aid is in the TWU claiming to be a union and then push a management contract in the LBO2 to pass. congrats you did it!
and if I dont like it, i know grieve it.......right
thanks for nothing and for using all the great power the TWU claims they have to secure better terms.
thanks to the twu/AA 50% plus one campaign, the TWU once again is the leading concessionary union! we brought done the industry again. congrats again well deserved

go tell us air and United how great you did.............
