BTW I have no problem bumping a line Mechanic either !

we welcome people bumping in and living in our geographical area
Maybe having TUL bump in to JFK/LGA will bring the IQ and common sense level up a few notches.

That's BS. You don't need to be LMP or Run/Taxi qualified to bump. You will get checked out once you are there and it's not that big of a deal. Follow the checklists. I don't understand why if we are all union members, why are line guys treating base guys like second class AMTs. We have people in Class IIs that are not qualified on everything you state.

TUL don't believe the hype.

And we currently have people being told they cant bid day shift in Class II cities because they arent run up, sure its a violation of the contract now but it wont be by the time it gets to arbitration. The Intenational has been informed but they arent doing anything about it.

Bidding strictly by seniority is under the old rules that were voted away. Now Qualifications come first and the company has sole discretion over the QAM with no union input. I sat in and Heard Evie Rodriguezz's comments on the companys motives for the changes they sought, a recurring theme was that the company wanted the "flexibility" to put who they felt were the right people where they felt they needed them. They described shifts where instead of just numbers they would list the qualifications they wanted and you had to have them before you put your name in the slot. They also described how they want to lock people in and lessen churn. Basically they want it so if you want to get off a lousy shift you have to kiss managements ass to get the qualifications you need. As far as OHJ, they dont want them coming to the line, they would rather select kids from A&P schools and slot them in where they want them , just like Delta.
Anyone who voted YES to that has no business pretending to be a union man. Unions were created by workers to combat the obsticles to fair wages and working condistions that were put in place by Corporations and their lapdogs in the government.

Maybe having to live under a Tulsa Contract in New York , in 2012, will be a real eye opener. We saw what happened when they sent all the upgrades to New York two years ago, they company let every one of them go back.

I'm gonna celebrate my YES vote victory by jumping in my Escalade and going to my lake house, since I have every weekend and holiday off. If you don't like living in Boston, New York, Chicago etc. Go back to school and get a degree that pays you enough to live there. Or quit and get a higher paying job.
You sound exactly like the POS's that walked across my picket line waving a paycheck.

You have never met a concession that you were not willing to take a bow for.

"I got mine brother"

Sad and pathetic.

Wish we could be like this. Maybe then we would have power

Just keep telling them it's easy.. BTW, you might want to familiarize them with the ASAP program.

When AA RIF'd a few thousand out of TUL and they bumped the line in 1993 what happened? AA M&E had moved to the top Line M&E operation in the industry. I don't think they are worried.

In 1993 we had a contract and language that protected us, now we are In 2012 and you voted in a management contract. Remember these words, " they can do that brother".

Bob I must tell you that I am ashamed to be a member of local 514. I tried to educate people as to what the ramifications of this would be and now it's obvious I wasted my breath. I am also disappointed in our local leadership who chose to misinform and persuade yes votes from people by saying that they had to stop the line stations while they had the numbers. Some have posted on this board that this was instrumental in their decision to vote for this POS. I am still shaking my head when I realize that 3 out of 4 in Tulsa voted yes. In my area it was close to 50/50. At this point I don't know what to do. I thought about trying to organize a coup at the union hall but now I see that the vast majority is in agreement with the present leadership. To all who work the line in those high cost areas, I and others here in Tulsa understand. I happen to be from Boston so I am quite familiar with how much it costs to live in places other than Tulsa. Had it not been for the fact I married a Tulsa girl I would have bid back there long ago. But you may be interested to know that many in Tulsa who were born and raised here understand also. We are just severely outnumbered. How I wish we had someone of your caliber to lead us here. I can only agree that as long as Tulsa has the numbers, the line is not going to see any relief. Keep fighting for your members. I know they realize how lucky they are to have you. Thanks again for all you have done and continue to do. You will be proven right soon, but Tulsa has short memories and will soon forget who lied and when.

While the LBO1, and 2 where being pushed down our throats, Delta gave their AMT's a raise July 1, 2012 and another one is scheduled jan 1, 2013. Non-union mechanics get a better deal and they did not have to beg for it. How can the TWU organize anybody with our track record?
We give up concessions and lower the bar for other unions to face with in their negotiations now. What would be our selling point for people to join a concessionary union?
anyone chime in and give me the TWU AFL/CiO pitch but give me the facts about how theTWU does so great for its AA members.
it should be an embarrassment that a vote passes by 50.25%.
half your members are outright against it and how many more voted out of fear, uninformed, and not understanding how this contract will really effect you.
we all will see very shortly as the company just manhandles the TWU and the members with the language written and yet to be written in this passed LBO2.
the only grievance we will have left is a termination grievance!

you were warned

Delta is a poor example here.
It's not just about $$$$....Delta never had any SYSTEM or STATION protection or any JOB SECURITY provisions in their contract.....oh, they are non union and hence no contract! they slashed thousands of OH jobs in their BK when they could've done it anytime they wished.

Knowing several mechanics who last year quit Delta to come to AA had nothing but bad things to say about working there. OT was given to the ass kissers as were preferable shifts. Hell, they did not even have to punch in and out....The "team players" were able to leave early for full pay because they were "good guys."

I agree with you that we are royally screwed, but to say that even Delta just got a raise and got a better deal, keep in mind that they basically have NO rights whatsoever.

I read the full text front and back, inside and out....Seniority still counts for something here as much as I detest this POS passing. Not much, but something.

I am strictly talking about money and we now voted away our rights to just about everything else. We are better than delta by the slimmest of margins. In the near future we will see how much better we are than delta.

I would like to thank all the people in Tulsa who voted "NO" and took the time to explain to people why they were voting "NO". Although the outcome was not favorable in Tulsa, the effort put forth needs recognition and thanks. The Vote "NO"demonstration on the infamous Mingo Road made it around the system via internet and we thank you for that effort as well.
We understand that some people in Tulsa do get it!

the one's who don't get it, will understand in the near future unfortunately.

thanks for your efforts again
