How in the heck did he win???? :down: I dont beleive any reserves would vote for him... I think there were to many people running and it made it hard for each to get alot of votes. This is not good... He wont be in the office, he will be working from home...

Every single candidate was in the crew room in PHL to meet and greet f/as, hold some discussions about the contract etc...guess who did not do this?

As I told some PHL f/as...you need to call the local office and find out who is in the office working on your behalf every single day.
Then, this time next year, there will be yet another election for PHL with the original election cycle...new term commencing July 1, 2008.

Wow what a cast of characters. Do any of these people have any union experience? All are lackluster employees at best. Perhaps they did not vote for CD because they thought they were voting for her dog? Come on CD , how did you expect any of us to tak you seriously when you send out your campaign email with a picture of your dog and then sign your dog's name to the email. That is real professional. God help us reserves in PHL.

I have to agree with you there.
LA gets the last laugh. You have Terry Graf and Mary Allen Hogan who give PHL f/as their altimate sacrifice by resigning just to trigger a new election for a new slate...and the few f/as who had the opportunity to start over...vote in none other then the DCP king himself...John McCork.
Hopefully, in John's utter arrogance to control the entire group, he won't completely destroy the fabric of the union completely on the property, falling right into Jerry's hands. Jump'in Jupiter!
Folks usually don't ever change their stripes...an anti-unionist is an anti-unionist. And knowing John, his strategy to control the group was to run for election himself.
No one should be complaining about the local union anymore. Not one utterance from PHL. You won't even get the MEC to pay attention to the noise.

LA cronnies no less...the PSA senior queens. I would think they would at least vote for Terry G.
Where was their loyalty? I doubt that the majority of reserves voted at all.
Did Brian M put out an e-line yet on the % of f/a in PHL who voted and the total count????

Again, talk to the senior TA FA's! I am telling you, that is where he got his votes. They read his newsletter and will take anything he says as gospel: trust me, I saw it on a DUB flight last summer. BTW, a few months ago I posted saying that I received an email from a very senior FA telling me to vote for JM. She had about 300 names attached to that email, and many were the senior women. There ya have it. I would not blame the reserves for this one.

It just doesnt make sense, I cannot imagine that many people voted for him. His newletter is cheesy and outdated, drainingly negative, and often his facts are wrong. His newletter is for the "barely computer literate" crowd who haven't discovered USAviation, and need someone else to form an opinion for them. Anyone can bash the union and the company... we all do now and then. What we are looking for is someone who can change things... he is not the one.
Its most definitely NOT the reserves who voted for him. Andy Perkins, and Grace Jones VP were the top choices of the reserves I know. I know I personally voted the same exact people as about 20 or so other friends after lots of discussion- some of us do care and try to make a difference. Looks like we got two of four- Grace and Omar.
Not to hit below the belt but he's not a good F/A either. He only works B on the 757 because its the only place he fits, and he rarely leaves the galley. It was a truly awful experience to be the F back there, getting crushed in the jumpseat while he sweated all over the place... it really was gross. I feel bad saying all that but he was also extremelely lazy, and not interested in any one elses opinions or corrections if he was wrong about something. He has no credibility with the company and absolutely none with the union who he bashed constantly.
Am I wrong or was he trying to get everyone to get rid of AFA at one point? And now he's going to be the president of the airlines biggest base during very important contract negotiations and a merger.
I'm dumbfounded.

There are 2,200 f/as in PHL, 300 f/as should not be the deciding factor for 2,200 possible votes. 25% of that number are PHL reserves...that would be 550.
If the majority of the reserves voted for Andy, or Celine, John with the senior votes would not have won.
If the mix of lineholders and rsvs voted for Terry by majority, John would not have won.
John's supporters were just more organized than rsvs or lineholders together.
