 Would love to see how many will actually flood the west to relocate. No need to use this as a negotiation tool if its not. These fences could be dangerous.

i would totally stay in phl. are you kidding me. why would i go to phx?. i have all the transatlantic in phl. no way would i go to phx. . it's lo f##in hot to begin with . phl is the way to go. us/west emp need not to worry about anything. phl is the place to be. the flying is better. so chill. and yes, i am a little buzzed. it's all good.

No offense, but I'm pretty fond of North Carolina and the east. I, like many folks, actually like trees and a change of season. Don't expect a flood (since it doesn't rain there anyway). Some of us don't crave the desert.

After reading these posts it sounded like AWA folks expected to be overtaken, hense the request for long term fences. I think the east is pretty set in there locations and most west coast commuters are retiring or have already left. Maybe an agent can answer this...How many commuters come out of PHX/LAS/LAX/SAN that would prefer west coast bases?

no worries I would stay in CLT.....I would bid everything CLT if possible
Furloughed US Airways

"Stay where I'am at".......I say that all the time and my wife corrects me. I used to say "where are you flying to" but she broke me of that one. 🙂

Why would anyone want to move in the first place? More money? Better benefits?

Fear of a mass influx into PHX from the east is totally overblown. Most of U have deep roots in the esat and south, and will never move. There are the PSA west coast pilots, but they're ALL flying Intl. and will never take the big drop in pay to fly domestic. A handful of pilots who fly narrow body live in PHX. The number is somewhere around 30.

Hmm...I'm just a measly gate agent, well, ok, Red Coat, for West, but I'd sure like to transfer to CLT in a few years. NC is GORGEOUS and I always enjoy my visits there.
We'll wait and see what happens to my hubby's job in Ground Maint. here in PHX though...if he's able to keep it, we'll most likely be staying put. (Although I think being around so much NASCAR would probably still convince him to move! HA ha ha!!!)

When US Air bought PSA, west coasters worried about east coasters coming into our bases. A few did but is certainly didn't seem to upset anyone. No one got bumped out.

Later on, junior east coasters were involuntarily displaced out west. But that was about three years after the merger.

As most of us already know the one thing certain in life is change. All you can really control is your attitude.

Best not to get to worked up it, it will just give you wrinkles! 😛h34r:

I heard a rumor that DP does not think there should be 6 east coast crew bases. Has anyone heard this?

I agree, most people are happy in east or in west. a very small % will want to move.
