What Do Nw Flt Crews Think?

PTO your coworkers are scabs, try working somewhere that isnt with scabs as coworkers and see how well your liked. Of course, i bet your well liked by management but that goes without saying, since you say your in DFW maybe ill give Mike a call and see what his opinions are of you. Im sure they arent what you would like to believe they are. You do know who Mike is right?

I never said I was at DFW. No I do not know who Mike is.

I could careless what anyone’s opinions are. The performance numbers tell us what we need to know. AMFA mechanics cannot compete with us. Remember it takes an AMFA mechanics two years to learn his job. We learned it in a week. There is no competition between the scabs and AMFA. We are working and they are playing with themselves in the parking lot.

Yeah you're finally right.

That the FAA removed an inspector from Northwest's operations after the airline complained, that about 470 FAA inspectors' reports on Northwest have not been entered into an electronic database since the strike began as previously required and that more than 58% and as many as 90% of those inspectors' reports cited defects, compared to a 3% to 5% defect rate at Northwest before the strike.

PASS told Dayton that a defect rate of 9% reportedly would trigger an FAA internal alert, according to the senator's letter to the agency and to the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats, due to PTO's sh*tty maintenance we will now be landing in Omaha instead of L.A.'

PTO.....What performance numbers are you referring to? NW has removed the on time percentage from sceptre so who are you getting these performance numbers from? Everything i have read indicates your on time arrival is well below what it was before the strike. Is that just coincidence that the on time performance dropped when the scabs took over the maintenance responsibities? I guess the real reason NW took it out of sceptre was to hide how well you guys were doing.

That's how good their performance is, they had to give away the seats.

SCE and MrT,

The 1500+ scabs at NWA will forever have to live with the tag "SCAB". There will be list and pictures to assure they are never forgotten.

Magsau,
Why doesn't the CAL MEC Chairman have "to live with the tag SCAB"? I guess ALPA gives special dispensation if it involves more dues money. Why isn't NWA on the boycott list in the back of the ALPA magazine?

I am a NWA Flight Attendant. I continue to fly but I know will be out of a job at the latest by january, most likely sooner. I talk to all the mechanics on strike. I know of one FA who refused to cross the picket line in CA and she was flown in for a rally in MSP. I know another FA who walked the picket line on her own time and was threatened with her job. She kept walking and she still has a job. I know of another FA who called in sick, and walked the picket line. She was fired. The latest rumor is there is a total of 3 flight attendants who refused to cross and NWA brought on 3 scab FA's. What the scab FA's dont realize is that they get paid the same amount as we do and will be forced to join the union in 6 months if we still have a contract regardless of a BK filing. Most pilots and all the FA's I have flown with are not talking to any of the scab mechanics. They as say hi or ask us questions. We ignore them entirely. We only talk to the managers because they have been pressed into service to fix the planes and they have been with NWA. I wish we would have walked with AMFA. I dont know if we can but we should take another vote and walk. When the time comes I am going to strike, but at the same time I know I will be done with NWA. They want to lay off half the FA's and outsource half our international with foreign nationals.

Calling in sick, and then start walking a picket line is fundamentally dishonest. The referenced F/A deserved to be punished; if the bargaining agreement permits the carrier to terminate the individual for cause as a result of this action, the FA has on one to blame but him/herself.

We learned it in a week.

It should give the crews and flying public much comfort to know that their aircraft are being repaired by persons who learned all the aircraft in a week!!!

LOL! Thanks for the laugh you idiotic coward.

No competition between AMFA AMTs and the replacement SCABS. Tell me, did the SCAB drinking before getting on the bus share the rest of his six pack with the other SCABS?

There is no competition between AMFA AMTs and SCABS. You see SCABS hide their faces, drink beer before work and have a spine made of glue & jelly.

AMFA AMTs are professional, skilled individuals. Something you or SCABS will NEVER be.

GO AMFA!

Where are they? I saw about seven sunday none monday and none today. As predicted, AMFA is weak. In two weeks the lines fell apart. Throw in the towel people it is over.

This is a quick look into unionism. A 757 is parked at the gate, we were sent to service the aircraft. The APU was running and there was no air or ground power connected and the cleaners were on board. I put in a call to have the ground equipment hooked up. We did the whole check except for the APU. I then put in another call for ground support. After another hour I then called and suggested that we hook up the ground support. I was instructed not to touch the ground support equipment. Why? Because it is not our job. Shortly afterwards a guy shows up and hooks up the air and then leaves. He never hooked up the EXT power. I then put in another call and in about forty-five minutes he shows up to connect the EXT power. We then service the APU and all is well.

This is not a random event. I don’t know what all is included in these guys job description but I assure you their jobs need to be eliminated and their duties handed over to the mechanics. Even though it will be an increase in the mechanics duties his productivity will increase 30 to 45% plus you can eliminate however many positions those guys hold. Which would save a ton of money and allow more room to bring in a much more productive mechanic.

The best group of people I have met here is the foodservice people. They always have a smile on their faces and are very polite and talkative. They move fast and are extremely efficient about their duties. My hat is off to the foodservice team.

Another group I would like to comment on is the aircraft cleaners. When you walk on the aircraft they are getting after it. They are very chatty talking amongst each other and basically having a good time. I thought AMFA mechanics were nasty but passengers on an aircraft aren't much better. I couldn't believe the amount of trash they were pulling out and piling up in the isles. I know the flight attendants make numerous trips collecting trash from the passengers; there is no excuse for it.

I think Northwest needs to consider outsourcing their baggage handlers. Those guys look like they just hate being there and their work ethics are horrible. I've been told that that is anywhere you go but I'm not so sure about that.

PTO,

The other day while doing my check, I had a NWA 757 at the gate next to mine. Anyway, there was 5 scabs there trying to change a brake. Long story short, it took them the better part of three hours to accomplish this task. A 757 brake is smaller than most, and easier to change. It looked like 4 rookies and one poser led by some management type - not real impressive. The scabs seem unsure, uncomfortable - there is just a sense of something just aint right! These guys will never be fully accepted by their fellow employees. The pilots and FAs look at them with contempt or just look away period. Even the baggage handlers IAM, consider them scabs. The picture at NWA is not as rosey as the company would have the public believe.

Over?

It's just began. You'll pay for your actions for the rest of your life. People who scabbed at Eastern are still paying a price. Where ever they work they're identified and shunned. It will never be over for you SCAB. The best thing you can do to redeem your reputation and to have a better life is to just walk away. Your choice, but I laugh when you say its over.

This is for "PlayTheOdds" I see you have been a member for 4 days and already have posted 88 times. You must have found out that there is no life for scabs. Give it up, crawl back from whatever rock you came from, go back to a steady diet of maggots, it would be much better than what you are doing now.

All you guys in here, that isn’t even on strike, tossing your not so bright ideas and thoughts around. Pushing a whole group of men to strike and loose their jobs for your amusement. You are very little and petty men. Through this whole ordeal you have put nothing but lies and misinformation on this board. I hope the company you work for picks up the baton from Northwest and runs like hell with it. I for sure will be there to support any company out to bust a union. I hope you're next.
