<_< ----It seems here lately that we are losing quit a few Production Supervisors! Two in the last month or so. One nAAtive! I guess they're getting tired of having their tail chewed out about so call lack of progress on our CIP aircraft! Don't matter if we don't have the personnel, or parts are screwed up!----- Now I'm not taking their side, but at TWA at least they had the option of reducing themselves back into the ranks.----- 😉 Any thoughts?

Right, just what I wouldn't want. A supervisor that couldn't cut it and just tried to screw you yesterday, working right next to you today and is now your "friend". No thanks.

Thoughts of Earl "Steve" Connel come to mind.

Sounds like something the twu International would come up with for some of their company union men.

Of course AFW has one of your former TWA union officers as a supervisor in TAESL. E. Notsobright?

It can't be any worse than the situation of having to work next to someone who scabbed at NWA while they were on furlough (and there are supposedly quite a few of those).

IIRC, management pilots and flight service supervisors keep their union seniority if I recall correctly, and can downgrade back to the line without penalty.

Don't know about pilots, but f/as who go into management keep their seniority as long as they remain within Flight Service. If they take a job in another department, they're gone from the seniority list.

Of course, if someone stayed in Flight Service Management for 30 years then decided to go back to the line, they would have to return to the base they were in when they were promoted to management. If that base no longer exists, they get to bump the most junior person in the system. Can you say LGA?

Why do you think AFW dropped the CIP like a hot potatoe? They did the prototype and saw that the turn time was impossible and knew it would be career ending and a political nightmare. So you guys got it.. I guess they thought you guys would be their heros ?

<_< -----Thanks guy! Your all heart! But I do agree that the turn time is more than a little "unrealistic!" If aa is serious about this program, they'll have to do something drastic about our head count, and getting good parts. As for that supervisor at AFW(notsobrite!) I believe he has a couple of AA cousins here as Managers! Another one of our problems! their the main reason we keep losing Supervisors! 😉 As for returning Supervisors, their seniority was frozen the day they went into Management, and was readjusted when they returned. Like the system, or not, but it took a lot of pressure off them! If a manager tryed to screw over them they knew they could always go back to turning wrench's! Makes their working relationship a hell of a lot more tolerable!!!!

I only know of one that has returned to AA in my area. He is not well liked and tends to be fairly invisible, and very, very, careful. I don't think he'll have a long career at AA for some reason. 😉

I know of a very few supervisors that could cut it as an AMT, mostly why they are in management in the first place.

What ever happened to "skippy" after he went to MCI? He was a hardcore anti-management slug one day and then a company lovin suckass supervisor the next.

<_< -----If "skippy" is who I think you are referring to, he is one of the supervisor that has gone on to "bigger and better" things outside the Industry! As for our own Supervisor, he got a job in Kuwait, working on Aircraft for $160,000@ year!----- Not bad, if you like that sort of thing!? 😉

Hopefully it's not in the deer meat selling business.

Heard about that one. 😉

<_< ---- That was a while ago! Boy, you guys don't miss anything do you? No, I don't believe he'll be selling any deer meat! But I didn't hear exactly what he's going into! Didn't hear if he said! really didn't pay too much attention to be honest with you!
