Something special in the air... fly the friendly skies... work hard fly right... we love to fly and it shows... who would you rather end up flying with US.

Anybody but Delta 😀

It can only be Northwest at this point, since they're the only one's in bankruptcy, besides DAL. And Doogie was the one who said he needed the other carrier to be in bankruptcy so he could realise his so-called "synergies". Doogie is well-versed in the whole bankruptcy process, i don't doubt what he says is true.

However, if you can't get NWA wile they're still in bankruptcy, i think you'll have a tough time finding a willing partner, and even if you did, chances are, LCC being the smaller carrier, would find itself the acquiree rather than the acquirer.

The problem with LCC is its poor International presence, look at any other "Legacy" carrier's routemap and you'll notice just how small of a footprint you truly have globally. Hence, the reason Doogie wanted DAL so much, a huge widebody fleet, and a largely non-union workforce.

I second that!!!

How about marrying BOEING!!! They give us planes we expand and put Delta out of business like they've wanted for us

LOL Delta777 ( and dont forget you have what? 8 of those?) I would hardly call delta a huge widebody fleet - I unfortunately think that deltas ridiculous pride for and cheerleading team for their management is going to put them in their grave... then they will get your "wonderfully lavish widebody fleet" anyway.... LOL you folks have had too much koolaid..

You left out the "Internal Growth" box.

It's really sad that airline management in general can't concentrate on growing their own business the old fashioned way,and instead view multi billion dollar acquisition forays as the way to go.

Whats the difference in spending $10 billion on buying an airline, as opposed to ordering new aircraft, upgrading facilites and expanding the network.

Of course when you do it on your own, hedge funds and institutional investors don't profit, so I've answered my own question.

Your joking right??? We have 50+ 767-300ER's, 21 767-400's, along with 8, soon to be 13 777's. For a total International fleet of 80+ aircraft. Compared to a whopping 10 767-200, and what, 10 or so A330's??? And you say i've been drinking too much koolaid???   You are so dull, you can't even cut a fart.

How about we take all that money the investors wanted to give us for DL and build this airline from within.
Get new A/C and begin to try and build something.
We know that one of those airlines NW or DL will go out of business and it will be to our advantage.
Quit tring to buy to make us bigger lets just grow.
Start by being fair to all of the employees and get solid contracts that pay good wages. Than nothing can stop us.
Thats the way it use to be done.

Very interesting.... Last night I dreamed that Doug Parker announced that since the DL deal was dead, he would return the multi-billons $$$ back into US: return US back to the way things were pre-9/11 and pre-BKs by adding to the fleet and increase routes; re-hire all furloughees; give back pensions; give back holiday and vacation lost in concessions; and give all employees a 40% pay raise. Then I woke up!!!
