Who wants a merger with US?

Do AA employees want to merge with US Airways?

In the CLT Domicile meeting today, the pilots were told there is proof that ALPA National is supplying funds to AOL and the west pilots to finance their legal fight. They have supplied between $500,000 and $1.2 million for the legal fees. I wonder if any of our ALPA fanatics on this side of the Mississippi are getting any financial help? Mark Minor says he is going to start a Card Check to bring ALPA back.

Our lawyer also said that the seniority dispute would have been over after the 9th Circuit Court overturned Judge Wake, but he said the company and the west pilots worked together on the Declaratory Judgement filings because they both benefited from it.

From another source I heard that the APA negotiators signed a deal with Scott Kirby yesterday at a town outside of PHX, for a hostile takeover with the help of Wallstreet. AMR CEO Horton is going nuts! AMR Management pilots are going back to the line. There will be a 7 yr fence.
Pay will be Delta Parity plus 3%. A319 will be paid in the MD-80 and B737 pay group. 190 pay will be Jetblue rates after two years along with all new hires and returning furloughed pilots. Pension will be US Airways 10% to their B Fund and 4% to the 401K. They would freeze the A Fund.

neither am I... but I do know there is a process for reorganizing in BK, including a time when competing PORs can be entertained. Even if labor wants to terminate the exclusivity period, that doesn't mean the rest of the UCC does - or will agree.
.
I suspect we will see the 1113 process completed in the next several weeks and then the merger talk will die down for several more months before US revives it once again starting a couple of months before AMR starts petitioning for an extension of the exclusivity period.

There has been too much chatter the last few days coming from unions, politicians, and some company officials. I think that something is going to come out sooner than you expect. None of us know for certain if Parker has met with the UCC, but one woukd assume that he has given that he possibly has the unions onboard. We know they have 3 on the committee, and they must be in the loop. If they are, I would think that the rest are as well. I have read several posts from AA folks, and they seem to have an indication that something is in the works.

Your joking right ?

Rumors are coming out that tomorrow they will announce US Airways to Take over AA... All three unions are onboard! In a way, I am so sick of AA management, I hope it does go thru, is really successful long term and Horton and friends get the boot! They can cry all they want to the senators..... They are not going to do crap to keep this from going thru.
You will be wishing for AA management back if this happens, you have no idea how bad this will be and have not paid attentionto what has been going on at US. I really don't understand why the AMR employees are allowing this to happen, why have you not tried to do what Delta did to stop a takeover, you to not need US at all.

Other than the ongoing pilots pissing match, what's going on at US? Is that a company issue, or a union inflicted issue?
Would you rather US stay the smallest fish in pond, or be on par with UA & DL?
Some of us are looking forward at the long term viability of the Airline, and know the necessity of this in order to achieve that.

Terry Maxon reported on Friday that Kirby and Parker met with the APA in Fort Worth at their HDQ.

Given the press release, it's entirely possible that the unions have decided to act as one for a change.

Sorry but our crazy uncle got out of the house again.

That's what I heard as well. Also heard there will be a 7 year fence put up... My source says they are taking to the creditors committee this week...... It's getting very interesting...

I believe the CLT Domicile Rep comments regarding ALPA are untrue.

@ what time is the BIG ANNOUNCEMNET????

Nothing firm. There is a UCC meeting today, and I would imagine that something may come out of that. It may be today, or later this week. I take rumors at stride, but I must admit that this one is coming in from several directions.

Absolutely stay the smallest fish, mergers suck for all employees, this will be our 6th. Now that's just my opinion.
