The baggage system stopped working yesterday and lots of problems getting flights out on time. Probably similar problem today still and they are thinning the schedule to ease the pain and reduce delays.

FORT WORTH, Texas, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines announced today that severe thunderstorms have affected its flight operations in Florida.
American will allow customers who have reservations for travel to or from Florida to postpone their plans and arrange travel on alternate American Airlines flights today through Saturday, Aug. 30, to avoid potential inconvenience caused by the weather.
One date or time change is permitted with no penalty under this policy. For more information and to check the availability of alternate flights, please contact American's Reservations Office at 800-433-7300. American Airlines customers may also check their flight status by calling American's automated flight information system, 1-800-AAFLIFO (223-5436) or by visiting AA.com.
We got in at 1 and we were told to expect a hour, to an hour and a half wait for a gate. Word was the airport was closed for several hours earlier in the day. We lucked out and got a gate after only 15 mins while others were still out there from a hour prior. The inside was a zoo! 81 flights cancelled and the line at the counter was out the door long. Luckey to have missed it all.
