An AMT with wife and child is 600 dollars round trip MIA to Frankfurt
That is with one stop in either DFW or Chicago.

MIA Frankfurt on lufthansa nonstop 450 dollars round trip for the same three people

So needless to say the AMT went with Lufthansa

But not to worry AA knows why you fly

What would you do

It's ironic that you put the article about wages and then complain about fares. You don't get it, it's all about price. There is no brand or country loyalty, it's a what have you done for me lately era.

You should be asking yourself, whenever you purchase anything. How will the purchase of this product affect the American economy, your friends, family and neighbors.

Buy American or Bye America.

Listen slappy nuts
My point is
Considering you work for AArogant Airlines you think it would be cheaper for you to fly on the airline that you work for day in and day out.
But its not
Another example of AA bending its employees over at every corner even non rev travel
So AA loses out on 600 dollars because its cheaper to fly non rev on another carrier for 450 😉

<_< No! I think the man has a point! to survive in todays market aa has to start thinking point to point flying! to compete with the likes of Southwest at Home, and large Internationals our seas, they'll have to rethink the hub and spoke system, or be doomed to failer!

Assuming you're d-2ing, why would it cost you anything? Do you mean a zed fare as opposed to an aa id20?

Apparently TIME FOR CHANGE isn't obsessed with AAdvantage miles, since they often motivate people to choose AA over LH. As for nonrev travel, well, you ain't gonna earn miles for it, so choose what's best for you.

It is curious that he castigates AA for charging more for his particular flights than LH would have charged.

Somewhere on this forum, I'll bet the OP has posted something to the effect of "AA management is stupid because they don't raise fares."

But when the OP is buying tix for his family - it's "AA management is stupid for charging me more than LH is gonna charge me."

Which is it?

AA's finances are better off anyway if it sells those three seats to revenue pax even at cheap fares than to the OP for roughly $200 each.

Lufthansa serves Warsteiner and Spatan in coach for free, and never complain about seconds, thirds, fourths, tenths...burp.

It isn't who is ZED. You should rephrase that and say...What is ZED? ZED is not a person. It's obvious with that remark, you don't work in the industry. Everyone in the airline industry knows what ZED is.

Do you know what ID90 is? I hope you at least know that. Let's just say ZED is a better friend then ID90! 😉

Wasn't Zed in Pulp Fiction? 😛

ZED Zone Equivalent Discount. Most airlines that allow inter-airline employee discounts use this formula to charge OA empl a fare based on mileage.

I don't know where he is getting his numbers if not from ZED fares. They would in fact be about $500 for Employee, spouse, and one child.

Thing to remember is that ZED fare standby travelers usually get boarded ahead of only the cargo and known terrorists.

According to Orbitz, LH does have a $290 r-t fare. However, remember his complaint about having to fly through DFW or ORD on AA. Well, the LH fare is a codeshare with UAL that connects via TED at ORD to LH9153 (operated by UAL as Flight 944)!

It was a joke 😉

Got the prices off of jetnet for D2 pass more than 5 years
with AA

The real question is; what would "real" tickets have cost? LH used to advertise ridiculously low prices out of the west coast.....
