Why Fly AA

I agree with the OP.

He is simply doing the same thing that millions of other American consumers have already done.

He's made his buying decision based on price.

Very amusing that he would debate 777fixer.....

(WAY TO GO 777FIXER!)

It appears as others have pointed out in this thread that TimeForChange did not do his homework. For an employee with five plus years the flight between MIA-DFW is free for them as well as imediate family if they are in coach. As the print out provided by TWAnr shows coach fare DFW-FRA-DFW is $442.50 for a family of three. Now if the child is under two years of age and he/she sits on their parents lap the charges would only be $295. However I guess no one would really want to fly international with a child in their lap. So I guess we will stick with $442.50. That's still cheaper than what TFC said the charges on LH were through Zed.

By flying AA he would save $7.50 and fly D1. As opposed to LH where you would be below any LH employees, family or freinds of LH employees who happened to be flying that day.

Here's a bit more info on the subject. An AA employee with 25 plus years would pay $140.40 for a family of three.

The reason I said this was because I read in LOCAL 514s RAG letter that they were currently looking for work on NWA aircraft.
Thats OK by you
http://www.the-mechanic.com/pdf/twu-scab-union.pdf

So just because a publication put out jointly by AA and 514 you said AA should outsource it's heavy maintenance? Either the morons at 514 union hall did not know what was being printed or they did and said nothing. So some poor sap on the shop floor should lose his job becasue of someone elses stupidity? Makes sense to me!

What I can't figure out is why the friend wouldn't fly AA in F or J; the incremental cost over coach is almost negligible. Who would sit in coach to FRA when J is only a few dollars more? And even F is affordable if you don't have any lodging expenses once you get there.

I still can't figure out why anyone would non-rev to FRA on AA when Lufthansa serves Warsteiner and Spatan beer in coach for free. I could make up the difference in the non-rev prices before we hit the US coast line. Afterall, if you're going to Germany - it's all about the Beer.

I said to outsorce the heavy maint if they were going to do SCAB work.
So weather or not its Morons like yourself or poor saps like yourself it is still scab work if done by a union shop.

If you read my following post I e-mailed Jim Little and Local 514. And was told they would not work on NWA aircraft.

As for my buddy flying Lufty he quoted me the prices why would he lie.
Beside the fact Lufty is nonstop I would choose them over AA also. Not to mention the superior service he will recieve
😀

Actually, that printout was provided by TIME FOR CHANGE in Post #6 in this thread. I simply corrected the formatting so that it could be more easily understood.

I don't think that young children are permitted to travel in the premium cabins when they non-rev.

Do you ever bother to read the links you provide or you do just go off half cocked without thinking things through? If you had actually read the link you would have seen that it was regarding line maintenance, not heavy maintenance. Therefore guys in TUL would not have been doing any sort of maintenance on NWA a/c. It would have been line guys. Are you going to call for AA to get rid of their line maintenance? Not that anyone with half a brain at a line station would have performed such work.

Never called your buddy a liar. I was just pointing out that it appears he, and you as well, appear to have poorly researched what it actually costs. Maybe you two should get together and look into this a bit more.

You are really starting to annoy me
I dont care who is doing the SCAB work but if it is Local 514 that is trying to contract it then there are issues within that local.
That was the reason for my post.

So why dont you think things through
slappy nuts

Basically what you have told me is "Yes I don't read the links I provide and I go off half cocked and say asinine things like closing TUL just becasue I'm pissed at Local 514. Just as I start threads of the AA message board about how AA charges $600 to non-rev to Germany when in actuality it's not the case. And when I don't have a well thought out reply I call people names."

As for Local 514 I would like to find if they actually knew AA had discussions with NWA over line maintenance services. If they did and said nothing that is totally unaceptable. Now if they had no idea AA had done so and did not know AA was going to publish this on a newsletter with 514 emblem that means they are asleep at the wheel. While not a bad as the former it's still not good and does not speak well of the 514 leadership.

You started with name calling not me
I read the link and the rag letter. What dont you understand.
If that was local 514s position then yes shut the SCAB base down. But after e-mailing the local they said they would not do NWA work. Which I later posted on that thread.

Better yet why dont you keep debating PLAY THE ODDS you seem to have a better conversation with SCABS like him
then with AMTs like me
