With all the HELP the IAM is giving The PROFESSIONAL AVIATION AIRCRAFT MECHANICS there is no way we will ever be SKILLED LABOR.
The IAM has used the AMT's so the IAM can get more dues out of unskilled workers.
If any one out there thinks a AVIATION AIRCRAFT MECHANIC is unskilled go get the baggage-handlers to fix the plane as the IAM thinks.
1967 - IAM attempts to permit baggage-handlers to vote in airline mechanic representational elections. Machinists claim baggage-handlers and airline mechanics are “related in talents.
1977 - IAM again urges the NMB to allow baggage-handlers to vote in airline mechanics’ elections, insisting “Ramp Servicemen and Customer Service Agents preponderantly perform recognized Mechanics†duties
The PROFESSIONAL AVIATION AIRCRAFT MECHANICS will be held back in pay as long as we are kept as a unskilled worker by the NMB, Company and Unions!
So as I have said the company is not going to pay the paperboy what they pay the plumber. B)

Then what we need to do is to make the position a licensed one and ALL persons that are Bagmen, Stores man and Ramp Servicemen and Customer Service Agents are required to have a AIRFRAME AND POWER PLANT LICENSE. (Per what the IAM wants) (A/P)(AMT)

personally I think it would behoove all to get the definition of skilled labor changed by their
'concerned for labor" members of congress......its not IAM's issue as to how or why this is so.
Ted may be looking for an issue to cool his kids DUI binge...
