5TH week vacation coming back?

What part of calling in every friday, using PPT, in order to get a 3 day weekend, would you not consider abuse?

What part of "kind of depends on your lead and whether or not they feel..." (your words) doesn't scream subjective to you?

Your example is extreme, but let's use it anyway.

Using your logic, what one supervisor may "feel" is abuse, another may not much mind. What if in your shop the example you used is grounds for admin action, but in another part of the TOC it isn't? You think that's okay?

But it you were covered under a CBA all your troubles would melt away.

What about union stewards that inconsistently apply company policy AND union bylaws? You mean to tell me given the highly political structure within unions they represent all workers equally before the company, dedicate the same time and resources to resolve all grievances?

First of all union stewards dont apply company policy nor do they apply union bylaws to the workforce.

I should be so lucky...

Attendance/reliability isn't always covered under a CBA.

However, there is a process for recourse if one should find themselves on the wrong side of how their manager "feels."

In grievances they interpret company policy but unions can play favorites even with duty of fair representation, they know which employees speak out against the union and are dues objectors and treat them accordingly. It is brilliant that in RTW states unions are required to bear the costs of representing non dues (or agency fee) paying members.

So Lev do you think the AFSCME local representing workers in Atlanta is hindered in their ability to negotiate and represent than say do you think the AFSCME local covering workers in Chicago because GA is a RTW state?
