Ground Handling News?

PRIOR to the bid, 9E was doing well..they were just signed on by mainline NWA for a 10 YEAR CONTRACT! That was not too long ago.

Looks like Comair will be having a clean sweep. At my count, DL has the six just mentioned stations (and a few more) and 9E just has the two brand-new opening stations in Tx. We at our station have our resumes and online apps ready to turn in...to what looks like to be Comair.
Better add CVG to the list Pinnacle lost to Comair! Gosh, this is horrible!! Make it stop!

Mums the word here (and no moving activity) since they announced that XJ and OH would both be sharing Comairs space. Someone must have figured out that what looked good on paper wouldnt Kind of like a really bad Survivor series...

Last week we had a visit from 1 NWA and 1 DAL rep how where here to see how they would have us move over to councurse H where Comair works DAL flights. Along with that, same week I sat in a meeting where the DL station Manager advised us in the room that the GOAL date for the MOve was March 15.....to add to this he sent over two of his DL top dogs to watch our operation for 2 days....we as comair have all been left in he DARK, and for us to know have to move and work side by side with Comair is not going to be pretty... This will all make for the best Survivor show ever.. better call CBS!!!!

Also we have already been awarded the Sky Cap Contract wich was up for bid and we prviously had. So all the talk about one Vendor for the whole station maybe isn't so....

ANY thoughts on what gives here

Must be bids are being annouced today. Alot of scurrying of management on both sides for a conference call this morning. Please post if anyone hears anything.

I think its something else other than the bids- stay tuned

See new topic- Compass+Mesaba+Comair=RHS

This puts the whole forced "co-habitation" issue in a whole new light as long as you are one of the few stations that is operated by both XJ and OH

Guess if you can't beat em...join em.

Here is the Word out of MIA........ComAir will countinue to Servcie ALL Delta and begin NWA flights as early at March 20, 2009.

The contract was awarded on MONEY only... Nothing else was taken into considiaration...........Comair was the lowest bidder among 5 Local Bidders.......NWA Vendor at this time will merge as soon as March 1st and the comair will take over all Ramp operations.....

Since you're the resident expert on this company, what (if anything) have you heard about their status at RDU?

That and MIA are the only places they're contracted for NWA, correct?

RDU was awarded to DGS.....!
