$20,000 Buyouts.. - merged topics

Correct, it must be offered to all bases if offered at all. I don't think they'll have a hard time fidning any takers....people are ready to leave. The pie just needs to be sweet enough.
It would be good if this could be combined with required physical performance standards for those that remain. Tough standards, but job related....... like overhead pushups with baggage. Both lead them out the door, and push them out the door.

THE BUYOUTS ARE HERE, NOW CHOOSE QUIT WITH MONEY,CUMMUTE,MOVE OR TRY IT AND QUIT LATER WITH NOTHING

The seniors out west would be tripping over eachother to get a buyout package! I think a buyout on bothsides would help out in many ways.

A buyout will not take care of the high senority issue on the east side. My observation during the last buyout was that many on the cusp of holding a block (line) who were still relatively young took the money and went elsewhere. Also, regardless of senority, many 30/40 something that were ready to do something else went ahead and took the money and moved on. I highly doubt the 300 lb, 35 year, "when is my break"T/A, cashcow pimping f/a is going to take $20,000 when the after tax goods would be less than $14,000. Many would have to get another job as most are well away from retirement. And THATS not going to happen

Hi everyone. Been a voyeur for long time but 1st post. Here it goes.......
Heard it twice today. But would "he " actually approve this?

Anyone else hear anything??
I hope this is true. I will be first in line. Just got a great job but having trouble leaving empty handed.

They could offer it to the west I guess. You guys are hiring off the street on the west where we have many on furlough on the east with flight attendants MUCH more senior than the west's most senior. It wouldn't change anything. The true problem lies on he east. Of course there are many on both sides that would want to leave. Well considering how well Usairways treats you and how appreciated you feel. It's a great company. If I knew I could hold it I'd be gone with wheels burnin'. Maybe even take out one of the gate at the PHL parking lot like we always see.

NO MONEY NO NOTHING ITS DOWN TO CUMMUTE MOVE OR QUIT THOSE BURGERS JUST NEED TO FACE IT MAKE A CHOICE AND LIVE WITH IT.

Hey, guys-check the e-line.

Thanks Zarah for the info! I didn't realize you added it to the existing thread.
The question remains-----Will it be enough????

I think this is great news. While we may want to hope for more the company is not obligated to anything so. I wish it were being offered to more flight attendants but it's definitely a step in the right direction. I never expected the company to offer any continuation of insurance. That may make some of the more senior flight attendants say no thanks. I bet we'll see a lot of the 15-18 year flight attendants take it with some top attendants. It will be nice to let some go while bringing back some furloughed crew.

This is great! I still think they should go ahead and offer to 1000- they have plenty of furloughed F/As and believe it or not would have no trouble hiring if needed. They already have a new hire program out west, new hire east F/As would just need to go to CLT for international and the three additional aircraft.

Great news for once, let's hope the people we are tired of go and the people we love stay. 🙂

The problem with this buyout for me is the travel benefits. I am so close to getting lifetime benefits. If they threw that in with the money, many more would take it.

You can hardly get on a flight anyway so what does that matter. use Expedia, Travelocity or Priceline. I hear what your saying USCREW but I personally would not stay here for flight benefits. NO WAY.

I'm very close, but past the June SEP offer. My family and I have always used the travel benefits extensively, and not always on USAir. Plus my buddy passes seem to all go away in January. I know many don't even attempt to nonrev...but we go to Hawaii and Asia on a regular basis and my flight benefits have helped a lot.

You lose your travel with other airlines when you stop being active... something to keep in mind.
