$20,000 Buyouts.. - merged topics

It cracks me up reading some of the comments on this thread.

The company DOESN'T OWE YOU SH!T!!!!

It is what it is......take it or friggin leave it.

Like I stated that is over 6 million for 314 people.

You are lucky you are getting that.

If it is not of benefit to you, DON'T TAKE IT!!!

GEEZUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You people are never friggin happy.

Calm down already, don';t blow a jug...CANT I WISH?????

When the time is right///when the time is right...

Dispicable of our SANDCASTLE to once again segregate the groups and only offer the F/A in Pit a buyout !

What about the hundreds of furloughed Pit employees that commute to and from Philly for 5 years now? Why is only one group getting a buyout package?

All east FAs that meet the min. requirements are being offered the buyout, not just PIT FAs.

Why would they not offer it to the West as well? I think the purpose would be to get the highest paid employees off the property on both ends.

They should only offer it to the people with 14+ years as they are the highest paid.
The company is not closing a base on the WEST side. There are not any displacements about to happen

What about Customer Service, Mechanics and Fleet? Are they the stepchildren in this picture people !
Typical garbage as usual from management pitting east and west and now employee groups in general. There are many who will be furloughed in Pit that will have to displace if available and uproot their lives once again. The fair option would have been ALL AFFECTED ! Isn't that what UNIONS are all about?

But then again no one cares right?

You people just don't get it do you?

The company did not offer this voluntarily.

AFA approach the company and with much banter they agreed to a buy-out for the flight attendant group NOT a severence for the PIT flight attendants.

Again, push your union (as we did) to get a buy-out program.

The AFA membership has been pushing for this WAY before the PIT closure.

If you would all take the time to read (not media) what it is and leave emotions out of it, you would understand WHAT it is!!!!

For you? You obviously don't know me...I don't have a single wrinkle on my face. Just because I'm senior to you doesn't make me old 🙄

If you are talking about retirement you are old lol.

In terms of recent history this was a long time coming for the East Flight Attendant group. We might not think it was the best deal but hey it was something. To all the West people that are singing cry me a river well, contact your AFA 66! We are two separate airlines in AFA's eyes at the moment even though you do get a slice of the profit share. Are you guys not hiring off the street? It was shared with you without our consent to bring back our furloughs so let us have our buyout in peace? To other work groups, ban together and work it out like our group did. I hope you guys get something similar but AFA can't fight for everyone on the property.

FWIW Sparky, I’ve been working towards my retirement since I was a teenager.

A statement of the obvious, everybody works toward there retirement. I'm going to live till I die.

I am clueless as to how this going to play out, yet it wouldn't surprise me that there are going to be a lot of hold-outs because of medical insurance.

Until this company gets it in thier heads that folks aren't going to walk without medical benefits...they are just pissing in the wind.

Cobra is too expensive. Pure and simple. The alternative is no better. So...why leave?

I'd commute.
