Heard it twice today. But would "he " actually approve this?

Anyone else hear anything??

I have not heard anything except for it may be announced tomorrow. I heard three proposals were offered to the company. Maybe they have decided to offer a limited number. Who knows. We can only hope.

I know AFA sent them a few proposals. Lets hope they understood how beneficial this would be. BTW, welcome LadyEpaulette! Love the name. 😉

I do not know what work group you are referring to, but I can tell you that it would make sense for the company, in regards to senior east fleet service and maint, if the COC is won by those groups. The company by various ways, did everything, (except to profitably pay off senior east employees) to get them to just go away. The COC could change that and make the company really show incentive money to leave.

I think a buyout is overdue, if people are not happy give them a carrot to leave.
Also has to be cheaper in the long run.
I assume CHQ was a bit worried about "Brain Drain" and maybe also about other work groups just assuming cuts are on the way. But now that the merger is winding down it makes sense to intice people who are just hanging on for a few more years to leave now.

I'm most positive Lady Epaulette was referring to the East work group aka Jurassic Park to MANY. The cream shirts may be on the way out. We'll see. Oh and WELCOME Lady E. I'm sure with a name like that you'll have something fierce as your avatar. Love it.

I was referring to the east F/A's. There are people who want to leave but just cant for their own reasons. Maybe giving them a lil incentive will help them make the decision.

Why would they not offer it to the West as well? I think the purpose would be to get the highest paid employees off the property on both ends.

They should only offer it to the people with 14+ years as they are the highest paid.

IF management were smart ( I know, I know that's a big if ) they would offer a buyout to the west as well. There
are alot of people out here in cactus land that hardly ever fly. They drop down to 40 every month except vacation months. In
those months they drop down to zero. Offer them enough of an incentive and they will leave.

It is my understanding that in the east if they offer it to one base (ex. PIT) then they have to offer it to all the east
FA's. Is that correct?

Correct, it must be offered to all bases if offered at all. I don't think they'll have a hard time fidning any takers....people are ready to leave. The pie just needs to be sweet enough. I can't tell you how many SR people stay for the health insurance.
