Try to consider the glass as half full rather than empty Tim.
Myself, I feel we attained much as per the highlight sheet and the pay scales circulating in the breakrooms. Question is how did we manage without many coworkers getting f'd in the a? We will have to see. But as James Hetfield says, "Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel Was just a freight train comin' your way."

Death Magnetic was a great comeback for Metallica. Just wish they hadn't used that "Loudness" crap and for just once can we hear the bass? Jeez.

"The Day That Never Comes" was like a sequel to "One" (The Stairway To Heaven of Metal, IMO)

But I prefer "Megadeth" Seen them 3 times.

If this t/a is approved, why go back to joint talks? Let them sweat a while. The union should just say no! I hope the negotiating committee learns what the word non- negotiable means when it comes to scope, health ins., pension and any other thing they want to reduce in joint talks.
There are many things that will change and we need them asap. Just consider the language that needs to be removed from the TWU cba like honoring a strike!...Do you want that to carry on forever?

when did i leave?
I dont consider any of managements nonsense of half full or half empty. I only consider the objectivity and reality and that will b totalled up and i will vote accordingly.

But if i were to consider your metaphore then id say the cup better be overflowing. You and management like the cost neutral and half glass verbage.

The negotiation team chose to put out the wage scale only. Any drop dead dates then its just band aid scope. Health care and part time concessions shouldnt be in there otherwise we are paying for our own wage.

Oh yes Tim "Me and management" I'd be willing to bet my 98 Mustang Convertible that if we looked in your closet we would find quite a few more ties than in mine.

Your arms are too short to be a good boxer kid.

And to add. My Grandmother was a 5 foot nothing old Irish crone who could hit harder than you even when she was half bagged. But you do make me laugh sometimes.

Because at the moment our industry is experiencing a possible "golden age" not seen since before deregulation and that would be something we want to take advantage of. We don't want to wait for something to happen that might change that and should secure gains while we have the opportunity.

Aside from "Base" wages there is always room for improvements in a contract. IE: SCOPE, holidays, vacation, ID time, sick time, retirement benefits, COLA's, profit sharing, ESOP's, etc.

Pay rates are the easiest thing to improve. It's the other things that require some work.
I agree, the Industry is headed toward a period of profits, and growth not seen in almost 40 years! When Nelson chimes in about historic references, they are not applicable to this time in history -- A whole NEW era is about to unfold both domestically, and globally... there is no past case history to compare it to!

How do you know the Negotiations Team didn't say NO to lot of detrimental proposals from the Company? My understanding is they did say NO to abandoning Section 6  in lieu of JCBA talks. By sticking with 6...  they have allowed for TWO opportunities for contractual gains as opposed to ONE. In addition, they will now have the added benefit of having the TWU on-board for additional leverage in the Transition stages!

Our team could have easily just followed the Company's advice, and waited for the JCBA, which would have kept you at BK compensation for at least another year, if not more!

P.S. Do you still want to “beat me up” a like a schoolyard bully?

The company wants and needs a JCBA to capture "synergies", meaning they save money.

Fleet and MX have NEVER been in a better position to obtain stellar agreements in JCBA talks from the Company... PERIOD!

You used that quote out of context. It was in regards to Rockit's question about holding off joint talks not our TA that is coming out.............Again....misleading the reader...

You don't want your competitors to be too far ahead of you to capture those synergies and in turn customers.

I wish your grandma well. But u wont chage my opinion, im not into cost neutral as u seem tk be. I dont beliece we have to pay for our wage with health care and part time.
I dont believe the scope is accurate either. Wiki needs to update us but my understanding is that the negotiations team may have lied and that the scope doesnt extend through the duration. Something is wrong.
