The company will have its way with us in joint when we have about a gillion more members and half of them are coming out of a BK contract ? Hahahahah I think not ....

You have to pick and choose your battles ...
Pick your nose...thats a better alternative for you cuz you will have to either honor or cross the picket line!!

You wil most likely not get any raise in joints. Maybe equal to the TWU contract but thats it. Their M.O.U lasts till 2018. Do the math 2008-2018. 10 yrs with min respect......and thats just since you have been here in the IAM. What about those that have been through 2 BK's......Now ur talking 14-17 yrs
Well what do you think this is Mike ,General Motors and we're auto workers who are going to top out at 40 dollars an hour ?

If we can get the wages AA is making along with COL ,sick pay, holiday pay, felxible schedules ,flight benfits, and profit sharing ,then we will have reached the moutain and it will be time to pack it in ..

But we arent going to get there in this contract ...

what ticks me off about him is that he got his a few years ago , that's all good I get it.
but now we want ours it's damn sure way overdue and in turn he'll get more too but now he wants to belly up and go to a joint agreement where we all know a raise will be years away.
Ive heard about "the past" 8 weeks of vaction and you could Drive your Tug off the airport to get a drink at the bar during lunch ....

Welcome to Greece .

"January 1, 2005, strike benefits shall be in the amount of $150.00 per week.

Whenever the balance in the Strike Fund exceeds $150,000,000, strike benefits shall increase to $175 per week. Whenever the balance in the Strike Fund exceeds $175,000,000, strike benefits shall increase  to $200 per week. Thereafter, each increase of $25,000,000 in the Strike Fund balance shall increase strike benefits by $25.00 per week in the manner described above. Any decrease in the Strike Fund balance shall result in a decrease in benefits to the previous level, but not below $150.00 per week."

$200/week, plus $825/week.  I get that number assuming a balance of $1B, subtracting out the $175M, dividing by $25M (to represent each $25M increment) and multiplying by $25 for the increase.  Assuming 7000 members that's a bit over $7M a week in payouts. which I believe is a loss of $50/week every seven weeks or so.  I suck at math but am OK at logic, so take your chances with these numbers, but I think they're right.  That also assumes EXACTLY $1B and does NOT factor in fro interest.  At 6% that's $60M annually in interest, but I have no idea what kind of interest the fund would get.
for some reason, 700 went cricket on us regarding the funding. I dont mean to sound lazy but if the iam pays me $1,000 a week thats more than i make now. Hell im good with $500 a week in strike benefits and i think all of the part timers and all of those below the ten year mark would vote 100% for strike.
i dont want to be shortchanged so we need an official amount that we can get if we vote for strike.

Also, we need official answers about sAA and if they will do our work if our peeps walk. I mean if 100% of sUS in ord go on strike but the twu has its AE scabbers do the work then what is the point of it if other union workers are going to do our work? Not saying they will but our peeps need a 16 page document detailing the "can and can nots", strike payments, procedures, what are we striking for, legal strategy, campaign points, etc.

Thus far i havent seen squat.

MARVIN...you live on an ant hill not a mountain.....Read the TWU contract and then get back to us ok?.....Do some comparing and cost analysis. You don't even know what you are talking about half the time. The other half ur under the sheets asleep at the wheel.

p img a cartoon character isnt suitable. We need an official number in a professional way.
That is not my decision... I agree that all the specifics of the strike fund, and potential pay-outs along with their duration, should be professionally addressed from the top.

P.S. What the hell do you have against cartoon characters?

Ill work on a question and answer document for our peeps and get it out systemwide when it is complete and it will be truthful and positive regarding why a strike and that the environment should prove it to be successful.
Since the current leaders dont want to put something out, ill do their job for them.

They deserve a couple days at least to respond. Then the flood gates open. Give them that at least......

If we get released tomorrow then shame on them without the 4 day advance notice regarding terms of the fund and payouts

Just a question for you guys... you blast 700 for not knowing jack s*** and not being a member etc. But now all of the sudden, you want him to release an official statement on behalf of the IAM regarding the strike fund. Then you criticize him when doesn’t respond!

Hell... if weren’t for him... you’d still be b***ing about an antiquated, thus false $100.00 per week figure!

Make up your friggin’ minds... is he credible... or do you want to toss him from the forum!
