This Quote of yours says basically we might as well forget about any release and there  is no movement !

Yet you say you are hoping for progress ?  You lose me sometimes but thats ok.

This is all about Solidarity and i think you need to get this group more in-tune with that. I believe there is movement but not sure how much. I don't think you call more meetings within a week if there wasn't.  I think you should be invited to the chairmans conference if you are not the station chair. There is such a thing as being invited  you know.  I don't think anyone in this union is unapproachable really ! At this point it's all about solidarity. Well i should back track and say maybe you may get elected and go anyway.
If that were not the case, would you accept an invite to go?
Id love to go to the chairman conference and speak to alot of the usairways chairman about the change we anticipate in this union and how we have built more unity in 6 months than what has been created in 6 years. Whats most important in the chairperson conference is going over grievances, unfortunately, the current leaders have disrespected the conference for 6 years by refusing to follow bylaws and instead using the convention for booze and fun.

The bylaws are clear, the agcs are suppose to give all the local committees a quarterly report on all grievances pending, resolved, or dissolved and why. At least Canale did that.

Disappointing indeed.

Change will be exciting! We are determined to bring the grievance reports to the membership instead of cutting deals and "not telling you' about grievances. Gs just withdrew dozens more grievances last week without anyones consent or knowledge until management informed a few key people.
This whole idea of waiving off time limits as the norm and burying grievances in the wasteland is a disgrace although i hear rezler and mariorano are better than the rest about this.

my suggestion is to not hunt for to many answers and wait till next meeting. At least it's not every 2 months like some always hammer. Narrowing meetings down to 1 week is a good sign I'm my opinion. Good if you think you may get a release or good if progress has been made regarding a fair CBA
The fact the NMB and both parties are meeting again next week would lead one to believe there has been some significant movement toward a settlement. This is a positive sign. Likewise, it is a positive sign that if negotiations fall apart next week, the NMB may be inclined to throw up their hands and release. Niether of these developments helps the opposition slate on the US side come June. The uncertainty of the future and lack of tangible results from the current leadership team is what their campaign is based on. Which team, by their actions, is demonstrating the best interests of the membership at US? Where we are in June, regarding contract negotiations, remains to be seen. Until then, I have no reason or evidence to believe, the US NC or the district has demonstrated a breach in pursuing the memberships' expectations in Section 6 negotiations. I know elections are just around the corner but this is a critical time for solidarity.

Update: 02 May 2014

US Airways Update
As previously addressed in the April 10, 2014 bulletin the National Mediation Board met both separately and jointly with the principles of the Union and the company this week on April 30 and May 1 at the office s of the National Mediation Board. Based on the discussions during these meetings Board Member Linda Puchala has requested the discussions continue next week in Washington, DC on May 6 and 7, 2014.
We will provide a further update after the meetings next week.

Cargo,

I’m in full agreement... if the NMB did not see some evidence, or promise of a mutual resolution, there would be no more meetings required. Hopefully, this is the case, and a T/A will result from these efforts.

Just one caveat going forward... “IF” a tentative is reached... every single Member needs to read and understand every single article BEFORE a ratification vote. I trust our current leaders to fully disclose these items, just as I trust them to bring the best agreement possible back to the shop floors!

And that to me is where the leaders come in...not to endorse and then blame the membership for voting in a piece of crap. Just inform the members of every article, answer any questions, and then let them decide!

Good luck guys/gals

Some may disagree but i believe one of the biggest things going for us is that the guys at the table will say both groups contracts need to be taken care of at the same time. Separation would be risky.

Tim,

If you look at some of the sticking points they need to be dissected a little further:

1. $23 hourly top out -- at what cost.  From what I have heard the NC will not negotiate with themselves in this area of the talks.  Needs to be at least equal.  What is to say that they didn't start out asking for more.  I don't know, maybe you do

Is the top out pay for AA FSC $23? I thought it was $24.47.

Are we asking for that as a minimum?

Under the '99 Agreement we had parity + 1. Has anyone calculated what we would be making if that were applied?

If we used the '99 Agreement as a base line, how would we be fairing now if it were compared to what our negotiating team is demanding now?

SHOW US THE TA $$$. WE the Members @ LCC will VOTE ! CONGRATULATIONS ! IAMAW President Buffenbarger from not being CRONKED ! Fish On !

unitedwestand..  AA tops out at 22.57  now and in sept they go up to 23.00

Absolutely! The ratification process, if there is a TA, should not be hurried and rushed. District leadership should allow enough time for station visits to address any questions. The entire agreement should be made available to the members for review. The membership should not be basing their decision on a highlight sheet, speculation and a lot of unanswered questions. Anything short of a reasonable amount of time for the members to review the entire agreement and have the ability to get clarification would be suspect in my book. A credible tentative agreement will withstand the scrutiny of the membership. A rushed process, on the other hand, would indicate an agenda that doesn't neccessarily represent the betterment of the US IAM membership. Let's not get ahead of ourselves though. Things could go south next week also. Then what?

I agree with everything you said.
I can tell you that I have given my word to explain any T/A to the agents in detail.
However no matter how long you take, and how well it's explained, we won't be able to hit everyone. So like Roa said. People need to commit some time to read it, so that questions can be raised. This is how it needs to be whenever a T/a comes out.

I for one will read every line if there is an T/A   and I will focus the heaviest attention on SCOPE  bec that is the job security right there   but sadly there will be folks like freedom who will vote for it if the money is heavier and the scope is lesser  and or wont read the entire thing
