As stated earlier... it must be election time. One side got voted in on the promise of change. To this goal I believe many of the candidates, not all, have given their best effort. The Delaney Team is up against the same enemy the Canale Team faced. Airlines who want to squeeze cost savings out of the represented groups. You can can elect and change union leadership as many times as you wish but the agenda of the companies does not change. The other side of the equation is to change leadership again believing the outcome will be different. This idea is being proposed by the candidates running in opposition. Their idealogy is being submitted on this forum by TN. Tim spearheaded the uprising against the Canale team and not too long ago endorsed the Delaney team as the team that would bring about this change in direction. Fast forward to 2014 and now the Delaney team is the enemy and we should, once again, support and vote his newly endorsed team into office. Tim points out many failures of the current leadership team in his opinion. It has been duly noted. But in the end; no leadership team wins them all. Campaign promises are easy to make. It's another thing to fullfill them. Ask anyone on the current leadership team that Tim endorsed 6 years ago. Easy to talk the talk. Another thing to walk the walk.
The negotiation committee, as far as I know, won't change, unless I'm missing something. Most of them are not District officers. But, absolutely, the AGC's and District officers directing that committee, who were also part of the 2008 negotiations flop, most definitely already proved themselves worthless and the membership should be made aware that the majority of your US AIRWAYS candidates were from that 2008 POS agreement and already proved their worth. I think the membership is ready for change and that the membership will make the most of it. The membership will decide.jet job said:Nelson am I reading your post right? You want to replace the negotiation team? Just when solidarity it at a high point. I don't get your point of view.
You sir, certainly wish that were the case but the U4C ticket is stronger today than even last week. I can assure you one thing, nobody that recommended that 2008 POS contract will get my support. You can blast your own coworkers at RDU, and Freedom, for listening to those who recommended that POS agreement all day, but you sir are a hypocrite if you vote for those US AIRWAYS candidates after blasting your own station and Freedom.pjirish317 said:Lets get some things clear here. First Tim has zero authority, even if elected, to replace anybody on the NC. That would be RD's decision. The people that tim has chosen to run with, that are US people, have been spoon fed a bunch of misinformation about being placed on the NC. Again, not up to Tim or the others who are running on the opposing ticket. It will be up to RD to decide what to do with the NC after the election plays out. And personally I hope that the UA for change ticket gets crushed. But it looks like the UA for change ticket is falling apart before voting even begins.
Ok I'll bite. How exactly am I destructive to labor and you sir are not? I do not believe in the UA candidates on the opposing ticket, plain and simple as that. Nor do I have faith in Artie or Carl for US, and ZERO confidence in you, your agenda is strictly Tim's and not for the membership. You sir are destructive for US fleet if you want us to vote for two clowns that have NEVER written a grievance, been involved in any of the grievance process at any level, and are just "likeable" guys. How is that not destructive to us? The UA people were edcuated on the ramifications of the agreement, and grabbed the cash. It's just that simple. Just like what happened here in 2005. And don't think it wont happen again, the hubs will sell out each and every outstation. People like to wear rose colored glasses with this, but the truth is, if enough money was thrown the hubs way, the class 2 cities are gone.Tim Nelson said:You sir, certainly wish that were the case but the U4C ticket is stronger today than even last week. You also are destructive to labor if you vote for one single United member on your boy's ticket. You like saying that UA agreement sucked but then hope that all the United candidates who fought hard against that agreement lose.
Again, I will ask you for a 5th time, please tell me what your boys did the last 6 years other than completely destroy HAL and UAL, and bring back the POS 2008 US AIRWAYS agreement? The audience wants to know. Thanks in advance.
my suggestion is to not hunt for to many answers and wait till next meeting. At least it's not every 2 months like some always hammer. Narrowing meetings down to 1 week is a good sign I'm my opinion. Good if you think you may get a release or good if progress has been made regarding a fair CBAP. REZ said:Negotiations Update,
No Contract was reached this week but the NMB is meeting with the Company and IAM again on May 6th and 7th. Stay tuned for an update after next week and stay strong.

i hope there is alot more progress next week sir. Time will tell. But the membership needs to be informed of the proposal very very soon regardless.mike33 said:Of course you have nothing to lose by saying that. Seems to you next weeks meeting is a moot point then huh? The NMB include you on their group text?
