An impasse either existed in the Union leadership brain ONLY, or you were all being intellectually dishonest. The reality of the situation is that there was no impasse. PERIOD. It is you who have misdefined it blabbing in the presse, "We are at an impasse". You weren't! Period! You even begged the NMB to rule for a release but it never agreed with you that there was an impasse. At the end of the day, the NMB was right because although you guys lied by saying to the membership you were drawing the line in the sand over 6 bare minimum items, you guys caved and moved towards Ole AH who has been whipping you guys from day one. Sorry to say but you guys just don't have the necessary skill set or academic background to approach the situation. I understand that you are unaware that when you showed movement on 2 items, that you clumsily tossed out any idea of an impasse, whether real or myth.
At any rate, the progress reported by Delaney, and Baskett explicitly saying 'there may be an announcement if such progress continued this week" is far far far away from impasse verbage. Like I said, as we approach June, release talk will be goosed. And that was the reality.
Wiki is suppose to follow up with me in detail, but he did say that the reason why nobody is meeting the next two weeks is because of the FLL conference, and because of a personal vacation that one of the negotiators above District Prez wanted to go on. Hopefully, wiki can get me the full update on this week's talks.
Not that a degree is needed to do this job but I have stated before that I have a degree from Arizona State University. Regarding the possibility of a release, kindly look at 700's post a couple of pages ago and look at the chart. The next step is a proffer of arbitration, PERIOD. If we can't get a contract that is the next step, LP does not hand the duties to anybody else. There is no other step if she can't get us to a cba.
I will not vote to bring a cba to this membership if I don't think that it would be ratified by 90% plus of the membership. I will not spin or lie, nor have I ever spinned or lied, to get that 90% plus ratification vote either. I am a straight forward guy who always has the membership in mind when I do anything in my leadership capacity. Take that to the bank.
I have said before that I am not perfect and have made mistakes in the past and will probably make them in the future too. I am a fighter and love having the ability to make a positive difference for my co-workers and believe that I have had numerous achievements that have made a difference over the years.
