TA on a Section 6 contract between IAM represented Fleet Service and US Airways has been reached. Details to be released in the coming days.
They better not have screwed with the scope.................orgac, i'm walking in your shoes

Anyone still think Obama wouldn't step in to stop the IAM from striking and shutting down US over a contract dispute anymore?

"President Barack Obama is forcing workers in Philadelphia's commuter rail strike to return to the job.
Obama granted Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett's request to create a presidential emergency board to mediate the dispute between the Southeast Pennsylvania Transportation Authority and its engineers and electricians unions."

Normal occurrence in the railroads, they normally have a CBA legislated and imposed on them by Congress.

How is everyone liking their new green vests?

They suck... everyone looks like a new hire (not to mention, a Swissport fueler), the logo looks as if we work for Greyhound bus line, the clear plastic pocket is already tearing, and most people's vests appear to be very baggy, as 3X might as well have been the mostly commonly ordered size.

This "transition" reminds me how we are US employees when it serves the Company and how we are AA employees when it serves the Company.

This link gives a pretty good overview of the process.

Ok!

This has been festering in me for a while so I'm going to get it out. Word is we are not getting back pay. The question in the brake room today is; how much is this costing us.

I am no an accountant and my math can be bad but I thought I would throw this out there.

As of last week, if my calculations are correct, our contract came up for renewal (not expired)
A full time agent (me) working 40 hours and not to include overtime (which I work alot of) will have amassed 5120 hours
If a topped out full-time agents pay ($20.57) will be brought up to American pay ($23.00) that would be an pay increase of $2.43.

  5120 (hours)
x 2.43 (increase)
= $12,441.60

To my knowledge, and I could be slightly off, there are approximately 2800 topped out (as of December 31, 2011) full timers.

$12,441.60
x 2800
= $34,836,480

This is what has been festering me. How can we agree to allow the Company to realize a savings by dragging it's feet in negotiations and carving out of your my a$$ to the tune of up to $12,441 per ?

I can think of many Ramen noodle lunches I've had to eat because of the company. I know that I could use that money right now to help pay for my kids College.

We deserve to get back pay! Our negotiators should not find it acceptable to take food out of my kids mouths and clothes off their back to get a deal!

That's my rant for the day!!!

No retro equals a NO vote from me. No outsourcing, either. I will not quibble and I will not equivocate.

You should probably wait until the full details are released before you rant personally.

But let's take your retro scenario into consideration using AMTRAK as an example. It took almost all the unions on the property near 8 years to finally secure a contract under the recommendation of a President Bush PEB. They did receive full retro but also the PEB recommendation said the workers were underpaying for their medical.

So in the end they got a retro check near nothing at all since they had to reimburse the medical cost to AMTRAK. And to get to that point AMTRAK stonewalled and stalled them in the process for a grueling 8 years.

Most people under the RLA know the AMTRAK story all too well now and it was a hard story to learn.

So you're adopting our wonderful lime green vest huh. Ah get over it man. We're not supposed to be wearing any personal lanyards anymore on our side ok.

I haven't been bugged about my RUSH one yet but I'm sure they're gonna get me sooner or later?

No disrespect to you sir but you don't have a pony in this race in respect to retro pay!!

Our union lost our health insurance grievance because they were inept when it came to writing bullet proof contract language.
We have now paid the cost of insurance as the Company dictates so Amtrak and US Airways are apples to oranges.
And while I'm on the subject of dictating. Parker dictated that he would increase "your" pay (TWU) if you would agree to facilitate an expedited single carrier status. He did it on purpose to disrupt our negotiations and  "He" told you in advance what you are worth. He dictated it not your union. Your Union signed off.
From what I heard in our meetings in our break rooms, and Charlie Brown can chime in if I quote him wrong, they said we would accept no less than the $23 that Parker offered your group.
That chaps my a$$. I buy and sell kids/ big kids toys on ebay, and I never would put in my add "I want $500 but I'll take no less than $250. I'll never get more than $250!

With that said, I expect $23 and no more as dictated by Parker as to what we are worth when our TA comes back.
Everything we had was taken away in bankruptcy. We have nothing that amounts to an offset in respect to retro pay.
