Subj: bidding Captain

ALL:

When a pilot for a major airline will not bid a Captain position it means the company is not paying enough.

In regards to the last update, does this mean the company will now force pilots on the bottom of the list into E-190 Captain positions ?

Does this mean a new hire pilot who is hired this April will be told in class the only slot for them is E-190 Captain ?

We should go to the company and strongly urge them to increase the pay for the E-190 so there is a reason to bid the position.

Thanks

That I don't understand. And there is the comment about USAPA and the lawsuit. I thought the lawsuit was about McCaskill-Bond. Could someone clarify this?
All USAPA litigation has a common thread...avoid DFR to west pilots.

The move from age 60 mandatory retirement to age 65 coupled with a downturn of the industry shortly afterwards severely constrained career advancement via attrition and ultimately served to shut-down the pipeline that had provided a supply of pilots to the industry. Then the legislation requiring ATP for new-hires and the recently implemented FAR 117 rest/duty/flight time regulations have further enhanced the "Perfect Storm" of qualified pilot shortage that the FAA, airlines and pilots all see on the horizon.

Increased pay-rates for the 190 will only be part of the solution. I see only the Wholly-Owned Regional airlines with a well-established flow-thru agreement with their well-financed partner surviving this storm and some type of ab-initio training as part of the key.

If only more of your westhole nitwits had voted against it, it would have passed!  See, you ARE irrelevant.

If you idiots really wanted it to fail, the logical tactic would have been to deny the 2/3 quorum....but NOOOOO...you voted as a block to "defeat" it, and a few more NO votes would have met the 2/3 and the east votes would have carried it to passing.

Very similar to the america west compensation which most pilots would not even apply for.
It was the lowest for decades.
Tony, would you agree?

If the E190 paid industry standard (like JetBlue or even Republic) for these 190/170s, there would be no captain bids gone wanting.  It's all Parker's incompetent leadership in that he hires folks to negotiate obscene labor contracts on his behalf.

The regionals are already having a lot of trouble finding qualified pilots to hire.  Guess which major is going to be the first of the "big four" to have that same problem?  Answer: the one with the worst contracts, pay rates and labor relations in comparison to the other three.  AAG may snatch some for the short term, but watch while even those continue to interview at UA, DL and SW (and probably even UPS and FEDX)...and then they will leave AA once the "hired letter" from the competition reaches their mailbox.
Once again, we can all see the high price of cheap...that is all but those in HQ.

As a denizen of a tiny world of over seven billion people, not even making up much of a dot within a virtually infinite universe; that's a concept "you'se" would personally do very well to reflect further on. Option two of course, is to just waste $675 dollars apiece on more "Liberty" ties, and pretend they somehow render you  "special", "signicant" and "entitled". 😉

You can't even run a union what makes you think you can do Parker's job?

Naturally, and that's unduly cruel of "you'se".  After all; who alive doesn't harbor a secret dream of one day undergoing a pre-frontal lobotomy and thus qualifying as a self-styled "spartan"?...Perhaps even "battle" tested "knight"?...Or buying a gauche tie and magically becoming an "American Patriot"? Mere mortals like myself could never dare even dream of "achieving" all that such as yourself have. 😉 A futile suggestion, but do someday consider the concept of growing up.

Constitutional Amendment Referendum Results

The Constitutional Amendment on the Dissolution of USAPA Referendum

FAILED

due to a lack of receiving a two thirds (2/3) majority of the eligible votes cast.

It did fail and unless I'm mistaken it was 2/3 of those who voted, not 2/3 of eligible voters.
