For how long?

How long is the whole point of DOH/LOS is it not?
DOH is a time stamp, whereas LOS measures actual contribution to the company. Certainly furlough is a sacrifice and should be factored. But not every furloughee returned when recalled. Some number went and stayed with other carriers, other careers, other pursuits and never looked back.

You can't ignore the fact that the last legacy merger to go DOH took place in our salad days and was only partially factored in the most recent UAL/CAL merger.

In our upcoming integration with AA, DOH/LOS diluted with fences around equipment is not the genuine article. Most of us should be 777 skippers under a pure DOH regime. Good luck with that. You can no longer ignore other factors such as pre merger career expectations, who's value, like beauty, varies with the perspective of the beholder; or what was brought to the table, such as widebody flying or international routes.

I don't care for these developments but the industry and it's unions (pilot unions) have morphed. The opportunity for a national seniority list has come and gone. Tribalism is the existing order. Absent a consensual agreement between USAPA and APA in the near future, this thing will go to arbitration. M/B sets out the criteria to be considered by the panel. My guess is the end result will look more like the most recent merger than the one from 25 years ago. DOH/LOS would be icing on the cake.

Good call by USAPA on not attending the first meeting. It was a setup where the company tried to get USAPA to voluntary meet with an unauthorized party to the MOU-The fabricated and mythical West Class.
Now that USAPA called them on it, they are going to have to back off a deal they knew had no status or legal footing. Parker and Siegal realize now that if they want their deal to fly, they need to abide by NMB protocol.
The fact the company is providing absolutely zero support to the mythical "West Class" speaks volumes.
Leonidas just had notice served Parker is walking. His bluff was called. He can tell his West pilots he tried, but.......
It has been the mythical West Class that has kept USAPA in court all these years which includes an undecided case in front if the mythical Judge Silver.

The new AA will make DOH a myth which includes employee travel. USAPA becomes a myth with the arrival of the APA.

DOH

USAPA

RIP

I see "you'se" lurking Res. Before "you'se" even feebly attempt any response Res, did "you'se" miss: Did I not mention that "you'se"..umm.."spartans" just plain bore me to tears? Put something up personally or just shut up. I'm gettin' too old to always indulge idiotic children, or at all suffer fools gladly.  PM if you ever grow a pair/a spine/etc..otherwise?....Ask your mommy/daddy for approval for your gross inadequacies as even the slightest semblance of a human being. I'm light-years past completely bored with "you'se" pathetic widdle "spartans". 🙂 PM if interested. All mighty "spartans" welcome. "You'se" west rep cactusboy53: "This is Sparta!" and snapthis, the "tough cowboy" avatar are proven and well-demonstrated wimps. Be the first mighty "spartan" to even try to personally back up "you'se" pathetic BS...NO?....Why not? The only uppity "lip" I've seen tonight's from one of "you'se" little princesses, "Monkee"....Have "you'se" umm..."spartans" no semblance of even supposed "men" amongst your merry ranks?  The "toughest" umm..."men" among "you'se" are your women!? 😉

NO response?...OK then...back to being completely bored by "you'se" kids. PM for wager details IF (however unlikely) "you'se" ever wish to even impersonate a "man".

Oops! I almost forgot!..."Click to Donate" 🙂 http://www.cactuspilot.com/

So, you are bored, yet, you spend every night, drunkenly posting all kinds of taunts on a web board like a 9 year old?  Then, you claim to be a christian and all that baloney.  Really, you are a sad pathetic person.  Turn off the computer for a while and go reconnect with your wife and kids, do it sober, they will appreciate it.

25 years too late.

The senior pilot willing to sell out the new hire will be the progenitors of their own demise.

Welcome to the B Scale.

A year ago I said it would go relative position, category, and status, with wide body protections.  Now that UAL/CAL came out I agree that LOS may be a partial factor too.

If the APA and USAPA agreed to relative position with wide body protections then it would easily be ratified by everyone by 5:00 pm today.

If I lose my flying job I plan on spending the bulk of my time on the couch posting emoticon laced messages on an anonymous web board.

You wouldn't be good at that and you would end up homeless, using wifi on a city park bench near a library.  😀

Yes, the "Nic" methodology, now.  No, not the Nic Award that used the Nic methodology nearly a decade ago.  😉

You just don't understand East situational ethics.
You on the other hand know quite well how to crap all over your fellow coworkers.

You don't understand the difference between predicting a likely "outcome" of negotiations versus an actual negotiating "position".  My apologies (to the rest of the board) for stating nothing unknown or new about your acumen.
