He never flunked any polygraph.  He flunked the psychological evaluation he was undergoing while taking the polygraph, then confirmed their suspicions about his mental conditions with the letters, the whining, and the reprise.
 
The actual polygraph had nothing at all to do with it.  They saw someone, who by his demeanor, they felt should NEVER be in law enforcement, let alone a part of the elite FBI.
 
Reading all his vitriolic, shrill, nonsensical posts, it appears those FBI evaluators were spot on.

 
Kudos to the FBI. One must wonder as to just what AWA's excuse for hiring him was. "Dudes! I failed even a polygraph/psych eval for the FBI! How about give me the chance to fly a hundred plus PAX around on a multi-million dollar aircraft?"

So it sadly seems Brother, and here the likes of us now are, in this "Brave New World". 😉 Ya' know?...We/those of our era, were VERY lucky to have experienced Flight in every form, and the whole airline bizz when we earlier did. I still love the view from the "office" window and the very fine people we get to work with, but I'm equally fine with going out of it before it can turn truly rancid, ie: "pilot" = anything with a pulse and a bought license...and such as "spartans" could sadly become the corporate/bottom-dollar norm. The military spigot's evermore decreasing, and the commercial aviation puppy mills produce "type it in" video game players. See listings under lowest possible denominator for the mighty bottom line.

Honest question Res J: Why/How is it "you'se" can imagine proper rejection by the FBI/Secret Service to be a gross "injustice", yet fantasize "you'se" self a mighty and inescapably free from even possible mistakes, some superlative peer of even the world's finest-ever, REAL, unlike "you'se" pathtetic self, Pilots in history? Please DO respond, as I've not yet had my daily fill of laughs at "spartan" expense....? 😉

I will go out on a limb and suggest that none of them ever shouted "This is Sparta!" when attacking/fighting for their very lives, nor expected artificial advancement from any arbitrator, but still....

Very insightful post.  The polygraph is part of a process designed to identify and eliminate sociopathic weirdos from the hiring pool.   Less than ten percent, according to an FBI friend who has been with the agency for over 30 years.
 
The remaining ninety five percent of applicants undergo aptitude testing and interviews to select the most promising candidates, who will then be invited to attend training.

Indeed sir. I've never much been any advocate or cheerleader for "the system", versus the individual, but it does very much seem that the FBI got that one right. "seriously off" seems even a bit of a kindness there.

The FBI/Secret Service immediately and properly rejected him. WTF screens were EVER apparently in place for AWA, besides NONE? Seriously folks; how's any supposed airline reasonably hire anyone who's been rejected for  government service by both the FBI and Secret Service? WTF? Am I the only one who has a bit of a problem with this? The FBI: He's too much of a psychotic for us to hire. Secret Service" Ditto. AWA...Bring it on!...We're just fine with him!...Seriously?

apa/amr pilots are boxed in with the NMB, McCaskill-Bond Amendment and a District Court overseeing the pilot and other work groups seniority integration.  apa, amr pilots will blink soon and come to an agreement with USAPA, the result will be a legal finality.
 
west pilots have to forgo the neck ties and come to an agreement with USAPA, it is the only drivers seat they have a license for, they are at the end of route 66 and the ocean is in view.
