Whistling Dixie is a slang term that means "unrealistic fantasizing".

Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton,
Old times there are not forgotten,
Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land.

In Dixie Land, where I was born in,
early on one frosty mornin',
Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land.

I wish I was in Dixie, Hooray! Hooray!
In Dixie Land I'll take my stand
to live and die in Dixie.
Away, away, away down south in Dixie.
Away, away, away down south in Dixie

The parallels are fitting with that Charlotte based association and the song above.
Glad you know the song. Skynyrd forever!

There are modern day examples of people in large groups doing stupid things such as the vote today in Crimea by ethnic Russians to break away from the Ukraine. Putin is leading them to a path of isolation to further his objectives of a new Soviet style union.

The world sees this vote as illegal.

Just like USAPA being voted in and leading to nowhere and not respected by actual unions such as the APA.

Ukraine crisis: Russia isolated in UN Crimea vote
15 March 2014 Last updated at 17:37

"Crimea's regional parliament instigated the secession referendum after MPs voted overwhelmingly to support rejoining Russia.

But the national parliament in Kiev ruled the referendum unconstitutional, and earlier on Saturday voted to disband the regional assembly.

At the United Nations, 13 members of the Security Council backed a resolution that called for all nations to respect Ukraine's territorial integrity and condemned the referendum as illegal."

I agree, sometimes people are led astray by leaders with a hidden agenda.

We're trying, you guys won't come to the table.    😀

I have a better idea, lets can the MOU.  You guys can back to your $125/hr with a 10% 401K.  We'll figure out how to integrate you after a SLI.  Oh yea, we'll vote to bring the West onto the new contract in the mean time...

I said you guys don't want agreement… You didn't deny that did you Piedmont..?
Well actually some of us would have preferred that being our Change of Control provision would of given us more money! Let us can it I agree!

The "world," huh?

Except for those small parts that actually count?  Like the Federal Court system and the National Mediation Board?

Spinsnap lives in that mythical world Leonidas created. Where mythical Spartans roam in search of instantaneous seniority.
Such a shame for them that REAL entities exist, that control them. RLA LAW, McCaskill Bond, and Federal courts.

Take me to that point of time where LCC wasn't in the picture and AA pilots would reap all the rewards of the future growth and retirements.  Throw me in that briar patch..
Yeah, take you to that point in time otherwise known as AA's well received "Cornerstone Strategy." 🙂

Forget it, Boy. The creditors already laughed that turkey out of existence. There's no turning back now.

Time to face reality, Son. You are a bottom feeder at this company, along with your soul mate, Mikey Stein. You will have to wait your turn. In the meantime, you can clog webboards with your nonsense.

You're the financial genius who declared that a Frontier merger offered more to American than one with US Airways. Sorry, Charlie. My money's on Doug Parker. 🙂

“But what does this growth mean for you personally? Simply put, it means increased earnings and career progression. There has been a lot of misinformation on this point. Let me speak straight – our current term sheet calls for about 400 pilots to be furloughed in 2012, so there is some job loss in the near-term associated with the plan.
