Not everyone puts what they can steal in the short term ahead of building a strong union and contract to ensure their long term future.

I had one APA pilot on the jumpseat that lives in CLT and is on their Scope Committee

Ok, so there is one APA pilots that might want to move to CLT.. Can you name four more? 😀

The already APA has an excellent contract and their pension too.  All they need now is to keep their 777s, 767s, and their attrition.. for themselves.  Definitely, they need to have a West MC now more than ever.  Or they could just put a pinky on the scale to provoke a protracted lawsuit and be a bug in a rug.

But I will give you credit... you accepted the premise that a union does what is in its bests interest, and then forms their argument about what is the right thing to do.  Ha!

That already lives in CLT, if I do it all the work for you you'll never learn for yourself.

They don't need a West merger committee except to produce a F&E seniority arbitration where they have zero DFR liability.

The West will have a seat when APA becomes our CBA.

Hummel, the USAPA MC and attorneys know it but want certain protections for the East MC and for now have to play to the hardliners like you.
Boy, that would be a nice DFR from our side.

He is desperate to think the APA is any different than USAPA.  No elected rep worries about a DFR because an overwhelming majority of the members don't give a hoot about DFR.  Voters think in the short term, and they want to keep their seniority.  Don't cross the voters.   No union leader is ever going to worry about a DFR... why would they?  Any and all legal fees are paid for out of the pockets of the membership, and as long as the membership is happy that the leaders are fighting the good fight, then the leaders have no fear of being ousted.  Cross the will of the members and THAT costs money from a pocket the leaders care about.

It is your supposition that a majority of APA pilots want to move to CLT, PHL, or PHX and are thus desperate to get the SLI finished, rather than just ride the upward movement they already have at their own bases.  So far, that supposition of yours seems to be little more than an implicit assumption. 😀

We had the same guy in the Jumpseat on his way to MIA, he told us it would be going to a two-way arbitration. No west. He also said by going to arbitration, no DFRs from anyone. Case closed.

He is right.

Not "Kevin" as much as you want to believe it. I'd be careful about slandering people by name on an open forum...especially when you've got the wrong person.
Oh, and the presumably "we'll" take it from here remark...you've always been in charge. You accomplished nothing but delay. It cost a mountain of money and wasted a huge chunk of your career. The 99 guys like you have the most to lose. No wonder you're in a panic that you won't be deciding a single thing after SCS. You're already an ignored lame duck union. You're fake union is impotent and hobbled.
GFYS SCAB KH. SUE ME.

They aren't the mortal enemy like USAPA either. They seem to be run very business-like by actual adults. Again, unlike USAPA. I think the West has faith in the basic fairness in an independently represented arbitration panel. If fact I've never heard anyone West even express the slightest fear of arbitration.
You assume you'll get an arbitration. If your APA appointed handlers reach an agreement with the APA merger counterparts to staple the West to the bottom - game over.

Can you imagine the looks Johnny Mac and Mitch Vaselino get these days? Make sure you HIGH FIVE them next time you see them. After all, a little compromise and the Nic would have been in place just about now.
You can thank Mike Cleary for doing all the legwork and hiring the right people who told him exactly how to play the west. Everyone knew there was merger fever in the industry, and the biggest proponent was the CEO Doug Parker.
Smart move west, let the pay issue keep Parker from a JCBA which also could have given you the Nic. Then taunt east pilots. Now it bit you. They make more, upgrade faster, move from base to base at will.
Nice job Eric Auxier. The only thing you proved is what a massive tool you, Tony Anger, and Brice LeCarre are.

Where will you get the funding?
Watch Captain weirdo unravel at the PHX show when he asks about money for a West Merger Committee - didn't like the answer he got.
AOL needs to nickname those ties 'David Carradine for our careers' edition.
Steve Gay honestly provokes a revolted look on Parker's face.
He probably wishes someone installs an airport type magnetometer when he faces the west pilots. You never know who will show, some wack in a raincoat poncho, a berserk female f/o screeching about her 10 kids, or that weirdo Steve Gay.
