He has no idea, must have got a messages from his "sources" we're merging with United.
Notice that every time things heat up, the further off base Chip gets? He is the queen as far as Dorothy clicking her heels goes. The only loyalty he has is to management.

By the time the West is finally broke and out of ties, I don't think many of us will care much any more.  Most of us will be long retired and laughing with our grandkids on a trip to disney.  🙂

Pretty much. Meanwhile, they can thump their hollow chests and go all "spartan" (for our collective amusement) to the furthest boundaries of their widdle hearts' desires. 😉

It's a small world (but I'd hate to have to paint it).

Look for apa and USAPA agreeing on a seniority protocol agreement in the near future.  apa does not want to go to arbitration.  If you had career expectations for a wide body seat, you will be ok.  If you have any appeal in the courts it will become moot very shortly.

apa finally panicked at the realization that they could not bring their stapler to the dance.
I can see a protocol agreement, but I'm not ready to agree that we will not arbitrate. It is the ultimate in political cover for union reps and a shield from liability from the unhappy campers at the end.

I tend to agree with you on the "political cover".... I would like to think reps are perfected idealists that think only of the collective interests of the members they represent, without regard to their own personal interests.... but I grew up and learned things are much more complicated, but still very simple.. As Benjamin Franklin put it,  "When arguing with someone, appeal to their personal interest, rather than their intellect."

The absence of west posters is very telling. They know now the APA is seriously working with USAPA for a deal.

Geez, maybe Wilson is starting to figure arbitration is not the smartest move, Traitor is not going to like this.

Usapians, serious men doing serious work...seriously.

It looks like the APA is going a good job because they know who they are dealing with on the other side of the table. They are giving them something to chew on and to reduce the noise. 😉

Maybe on vacation?

The West members of the USAPA Merger Committee resigned at a good time, to save face with their fellow West pilots...  The self appointed AOL West Merger Committee members continue sitting on their phones, waiting to accept a ballroom dance invitation that is imminent, really.  Time, location, and uniform TBD.  A fancy new tie, with no suitors calling.
the motion passed 8 - 3 (Yes - CLT, DCA, PHL; No - PHX).
WHEREAS the BPR is interested in obtaining the best possible seniority integration for all US Airways pilots,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the BPR directs that the Merger Committee and their Merger Counsel shall be responsible for the Protocol, Transition and Settlement agreements in consultation with the President and the General Counsel.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the proposed agreements must be presented to the BPR for their input and final approval prior to presentation to the APA.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT all negotiations with APA regarding the (3) three documents shall occur exclusively between the Merger Committee and Merger Counsel, in coordination with the President and General Counsel.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED THAT any tentative agreement(s) obtained between the APA and USAPA are subject to final approval by the BPR.

Or maybe he realizes it's over, which it as been for quite awhile according to Ferguson, he just has not told the troops yet. DOH sure puts a lot of westies in AA's 777, or stay locked in PHX.

I vote for stay locked in PHX... LOL, just kidding... 😉

I haven't been on the board, because I've just been too busy.  As for the APA working a deal?  Not that I know of, although I have no inside knowledge.  I'm not core AWAPA, friends at American aren't that high up in the union, and USAPA probably thinks I'm a westoff.  I did notice the APA dropped the 4 or 5% tack on for contract negotiations, so at least the talks with the company are going well.  🙂
