500 Pit Mech Job May Come Back

You guys make me laugh. Have you still not learned your lesson about reacting to a mere statement from a union rep.
Doesn't this ring a bell?
PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE ARTICLE
Today, a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article reported that
the US Airways flight center will almost certainly
move to Phoenix. The news is understandably creating a
stir among employees. The information is not confirmed
and we're sorry for confusion and unease that the
article may have brought upon employees.
Guess who was on there babbling??? The pres. of the union representing the dispatchers.
Now the rep. of the mechanics is on there wishing on 500 jobs. Do you think that is just in time for the issue of voting for which union the members would like to be represented by? Things that make you say hmmmmm?

Go read the ten commandments .

People can't even admit something positive.

I guess one manager does not want more people to work in the PIT hangar as he might actually have to work.

People couldn't keep the TEN C's 700 so Jesus came to save the day and still people don't listen to him either, including labor leaders....Read the Ten C's statement shows how "uninformedâ€￾ and lost you are.

Even the IBT has acknowledge the IAM is the surviving union, why do you think they are trying to get cards signed?

HP's former mechanics are not the required 35% to require an election, the IAM will be certified as the bargaining agent.

I am no fan of Frank or Bill.

PITMTC,

That has nothing to do with this topic, you are truly grasping.

good point dude....

smile

but this has caused the same effect:

One thing is for sure, the company pre/post merger will do/has done what it has to do, to survive. Although the employees had to take a big hit financially to make it happen, the fact is, the company stated what it needs and got those needs met. The same will happen moving forward. You either realize that, or will be in great shock and denial AGAIN.
I do not know what is planned as they do not tell lower management. Do you thinkthey sit with the reps and tell them?
Some on here are sh_t-house lawyers who really still believe that the tail can wag the dog. Those days are loooong gone.

Hey, when are they building that new maintenance center in PIT?

-Ask Frank how that worked out for him.

just remember no matter which union wins IAM or IBT more work is going to be out sourced and that union going to take the blame for it, the company holds all the cards, unions have lost their power, just look how screwed nwa mechanics are you cant blame amfa they did what they had to

Just how many years do you have with the company B737? Have a feeling you had better hope the work stays in-house!! Took a look at the HP mechanic senority list that had been going around and going by DOH it will not be pretty for you boys!!!

I feel Frank, Bill and the IAM do not serve the membership well and are only interested in serving themselves. Frank never would show his W-2 statement to anyone. Some say they know he was bought and paid for. To bad for the fools in Pittsburgh that kept voting him back in. I just want to ask them "Heh! How did that work out for you?".

--Maybe the fools do not deserve anything more.

We at HP are well aware of what the seniority list looks like - it is not pretty for any of us and that includes me - and you can bet that when we go back to the negociations next week our scope is going to be a topic of discussion. We want to keep the jobs inside the company as bad as anyone else. None of us wants to see anyone out of work and that includes us.

Secure your right of choice and sign a card - then research for yourself instead of listening to the gossip on here (mine included) and vote what YOU think is best for YOU. The only way you will have a choice is to sign the card, do not sell yourself short.

Well said. You are 100% right.

I can tell you this about Frank and Bill and the IAM.. They will not be looking out for the HP people.. Not at all. They will be pushing for DOH so the majority of the US people are protected.. Take that to the bank.

The issue of outsourcing.. All you need to do is read the company press release. It is very clear their position.

HP people beware. The vast majority of US people are more senior than you are.

If they win the Airbus work and send it to PHX, how many PIT mech's will move over there? So much for higher seniority.

And will they ask any managers from Pit to accompany the aircraft? 😛

That article is typical "glossy" media garbage...full of false statements by misinformed, uninformed, and totally ignorant individuals. Time will tell.
