For the last 10 years that I worked at USAirways it seamed like only 50% cared what the aircraft looked like and only 5% would go out of their way to do anything about it. That included both Management and Union workers (mechanics and Utility).

I flew on a spotless Dash-8 yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised - no scuff marks on the overheads, clean carpet, the plane looked almost brand new. They had even cleaned off the diarrhea stains from the seat cushions!!

It is not an issue of cleaning as much as the interior is just worn out. No cleaning (no matter who does it) is going to bring a worn out seat cushion back to life.
It is a managment decision on how much money they spend on up-grading the interior. The 767 need an up-grade of new seat cushions, and seat covers at a minimum. While the plane was not spotless, it was not dirty either.

I agree the interiors are trashed I think they should raise ticket prices and stop giving away free upgrades and use that money to redo the aircraft interiors or maybe cut employees pay again. They could evencut down spending on the saefty related maintenance and use the money on new seats. How do all that sound? Any other suggestions?
Well, Charlie, the ticket prices for an Envoy seat are already plenty high. And they don't give away very many freebies up there. How many US Airlines are still flying with international premium cabin interiors going on 10 years old?

Walking on the 767 and seeing all of that yellowed plastic everywhere reminds me of being in a smokers house when you remove a picture from the wall. It is so old. I don't understand why they don't reconfigure that a/c being how they want to add 50 seats where there were 10 before LOL. That closet and mid/galley could be done away with if the rest of the a/c was redone. Atleast on the a/c right side that closet is filled with JUNK and a few cardboard basinets. HOPEFULLY..... I'm not expecting anything soon.

Its a damn shame that this isnt a new problem. Its been going on for a while now with US. Perhaps the new team will do something to correct the problem. I have said before, the US name and brand is well known in the European cities you guys fly to. The first taste of America and or the US product ans services the tracelers get is your airplanes. If your planes look like garbage, thats the pic. that will stick in the customers mind.
