9-1-04 Alpa Code-a-phone Update

mlt,

Sometimes it's hard to read CL's posts because they're spinning so fast...

Lark,

Don't go overboard, now. You know the saying...

"You don't HAVE to be crazy to work here, it just helps."

Mlt, elected surgery. Furthermore, ALPA National would not permit the illegal proxy transfer that was proposed by the RC4/C4.

In my opinion there will be a vote. The RC4 with three members in the very top of the seniority list will not throw away over $250,000 per year in pay and retirement after the cuts with a no vote.

The RC4 think they're tough guys and their sentiment is not compromised, but they have "moles" in their ranks.

Here's the issue: The RC4/C4 have three very senior members who are controlling the negotiations: These men want cash in the form of an early retirement, expanded voluntary leave with cash payouts, sick bank cash out, more vacation flyback, and a whole DC Plan.

Why? People like Mwereplanes and the RC4/C4 cannot get over the fact that their $1.5 million lump sum is gone and now they're attempting to recover a cash retirement at the expense of the 3,300 pilots, their families, and 28,000 employees.

It's truly pitiful, selfish, and greed.

ALPA's financial and legal advisors have said for moths that if the union had agreed to participate in the new business plan months ago the cuts would have been about 80% of the total ask and each day we wait, the company's proposal gets worse and the tough guys look foolish because just saying "no' does not work.

Respectfully,

 MEC DONT LET THE COMPANY PULL A FAST ONE .fIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.IF
YOU HAVE TO ,TO THE END .CLOSE THE STAND JUST LIKE THE IAM AND THE CWA
THEY WILL TAKE NO CUT IN PAY WILL NOT REOPEN THE CONTRACT.

320Pilot,

You said "elected" surgery. Did you mean "elective" surgery? Freudian slip?

Surgery doesn't have to be "emergency" but can be urgent and can be called elective. I don't know but any kind of surgery is not fun. I seriously doubt he chose surgery to avoid an MEC meeting.

Best wishes to John and speedy recovery.

Truly Pathetic!!! You can't break their resolve, so now you are attempting to create distrust among the responsible, rational PIT & PHL reps.

One thing you need to remember--Recall=Rollcall...Your buddies' days are numbered!

USA320pilot as they say in Mexico you've gone "muy loco." I've seen the proposal and first officers would make $56,000 a year, 737 captains would make $95 an hour! What happened to America West rates? What happened to JetBlue rates? This company garbage thrown back to the C4 is utterly beyond comprehension and speaks volumes of the lack of humanity of this management. Sorry, it's going down to Chinatown baby. Full pay to the last day.

The RC4/C4 have brought the company's "land grab" proposal onto itself and was predicted by the advisors. The advisor's told the RC4 weeks ago this would occur and guess what, it's now playing out.

ALPA's outside counsel Mike Abrams from Cowen, Weiss, & Simon, who graduated from Harvard Law School, and has been involved with labor negotiations for over 30 years told the MEC the offers would get worse and worse every day. Guess what, he was right. But people with their high school education like PHL F/O Rep Dan Von Bargen told the MEC yesterday that he did not believe Abrams because he had a "gut instinct".

According to ALPA's advisor's US Airways would have accepted the America West pilot contract, but the RC4 said "no" and now the RC4 is about to get "steam rolled" and they do not know what to do next. The America West contract would have permitted blockhoders to have higher gross pay than today, but no, the RC4 have held out dramatically increasing the odds of bankruptcy and now offering such items as a 20.25% pay cut, 20% DC plan loss, and 90 hours flying.

Isn't it interesting the RC4/C4 are offering pay rates less than America West's pilot pay?

Respectfully,

USA320Pilot

USA320pilot are you listening to yourself dude? The smartest thing ALPA could do right now is to walk out negotiations and tell management see you in court. Given the piece of crap that has been thrown at the NC4 I say f'em and shut her down. ALPA is beginning to look like a bunch of Bozos over this. If you want to know what leadership looks like just look at the IAM they aren't stupid unlike a lot of college educated pilots who take the word of a "Haarvaard" educated lawyer as the gospel. Full pay to the last day.

How do you spell LAWSUIT? Do these guys have a degree in economics, finance, or other related experience that qualifies them to blow off all the financial advisors?

What about all the senior guys losing all of there notional money over this idiotic plan of action. Even most of the support group for the RC4 want to vote in to insure they do not lose the money.

The PHL FO rep has a GED high school diploma, and cannot even state why he does not agree with the advisors. They and you are pathetic!

Guess what, just as LOA 91 passed by a ¾ majority, the ¾ of the pilots are coming outa the wood work to demand accountability…and there will be just that.

These people are cowards and definitely NOT leaders.

It is apparent with the latest company offer what is being attempted.

I am going to make this crystal clear:

I am completely convinced there will be no rank and file vote on this offer or anything remotely resembling it. Regardless of how many bedwetters show up in DCA. Regardless of the advisors. Regardless of an MEC chairman who also doesn't get it. IF the company comes to its senses then there will be a vote. If not....................................

We WILL go into C11 and let the judge figure it out. And whatever happens there happens. PHL and PIT will not be pushed by the minority of pilots and their fear.
