Spectacular work by US Airways people everywhere yesterday for delivering zero mainline cancellations system-wide. The September operation is off to a stellar start! Most impressive...

New marketing slogan: "Fly With US. We Cancel Less Often."

Seriously.....good work, everyone!

Numbers don't lie... great job to all on the front lines.

However, the skeptical side of me wonders... what was the load factor compared to the week before? Was this done on half empty planes?

What does a half empty airplane look like? Haven't seen one in years!!

Don't remember the exact number from yesterday, but we've been running mid 80s to low 90s on load factors recently systemwide. No where close to half empty on average in a long time.
Congrats to everyone!

Load factor and cancelations are not related at all. Now you can make a case for loads and OTP if you like.

Either way you can no longer compare or consider that data credible - this management team has BUYING both our LOAD FACTOR and OTP for quite some time.

Padding the @#$% out of the block times and offering fares (usually cheaper than SWA) to run with 80%-90% load factor (with the lowest yield of all major carriers) doesn't mean we have great management, achieved a great accomplishment, or should start congratulating ourselves just yet.

TEMPE is buying our OTP, and now our LOAD FACTOR. Tempe then issues a press release to tell the world how "AWE SOME" they are, pat themselves on the back publicly, maybe throw the employees $50 for "job well done" then quietly privately adjourn back to the boardroom to award themselves millions in bonuses for their executive prowess when these superficial benchmarks (aka industry milestones) are achieved. Can you say "Hoodwinked "?

That's not a management team - more like political administration that hands out
stimulus checks so we won't ask questions?

Actually it's 100 dollars and no need to thank fleet service for us busting our to get the planes out on time <_<
