So I've heard. This begs the question though:

Will the execs from any of these companies contracted for clean-up have any such limitations or caps on their largesse? I mean, this is a national emergency that trumps economic ( income ) concerns isn't it? 😉

Let me get this straight...

Bush signs an order allowing companies to lower wages in the wake of Katrina, then awards the rebuilding contracts to those with close ties to he and his administration.

Yet in light of these facts, you still have the gall to call those who highlight this blatantly obvious conflict of interest as "relentless?"

Am I missing something here? One of us is, and I'm pretty sure it's not me.

What part of those facts do you take issue with?

Relentless? Well, what comes around goes around.

I'm shocked! Shocked, I tell you! Round up the usual suspects. I'm just surprised that it came out this soon. Halliburton is usually completely in place and collecting the bucks before anyone notices.

CNN just report FEMA had let 1.3 billion in contracts for Katrina cleanup and repairs.

80 percent were no-bid.

91 percent went to companies outside of LA, MS and AL.

So, let me see.

Local companies, who could use the business, are shut out.

Local employees get Davis Bacon repealed to 'help' them rebuild their lives.

Does anybody get the feeling maybe this Administration doesn't want these folks around?

Early on, some in the black leadership said the Administration was going to use Katrina to break the Democratic grip on NO.

I thought they were paranoid.

Now, not so much 🙁

...The first FEMA request to the Defense Department was not reported in Brown's e-mails until 10 a.m., Sept. 2, nearly three days later, seeking "full logistical support to the Katrina disaster in all [emergency] declared states."

Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco requested 40,000 U.S. troops on Aug. 31.....
