We agree to disagree.
Fair enough, but I have to ask, what would you suggest? Would you rather that AFA National step in and halt negotiations for the next year or so while they sort this all out? Should Mike and Carol pack up their belongings and walk away? Can we really afford that?

I have talked to MF a few times recently, and he has said that the pace and quality of negotiations is picking up, and is actually positive. He in no way hinted that Jeff was a huge stumbling block in the pace of the negotiations. You obviously know more, so please share and enlighten me.

What are our options, now that AFA66 kept their current LECP?

Ok, so tell me exactly what the East AFA team can do about Jeff being at the table. How can they get rid of him? Should we storm out of Negotiations and tell the Company that we want to wait until he is no longer at the table?

How about leaving some "highly sensitive and secret" documents scattered about on a conference table for 2 or 3 days and see if he takes the bait (again), then throw a hissy fit to national?

Instead of these adults trying to trap and tattle on each other, I'd rather they negotiate the contract, instead of wasting more of our time.

I still want to know what recourse MF has to get rid of Jeff on the JNC, if any? As long as Jeff is not performing the job of Sec-Treas, I can't see where they can boot him out.

Its done and over with. Some want to drag this on like a usapa dispute. Sigh.

If you have a concern, call up the 66 office and ask for more information, offer a solution and/or state your position. I'm sure they've thought about it already, but if not I think you will find that they are willing to listen.

Going on and on about people you've never spoken with or interacted with just shows how little you know about them and the process they are working on. I don't know for sure, but I know that if I were in Lisa's position that I would have considered wether or not to keep Jeff at the negotiating table and what the perception of that would be versus what he is able to offer in support, etc.

Your worst case scenario is what exactly? Are you saying that Jeff, now functioning as a fa at large, but with what 6 or more solid months of ongoing merged contract negotiations should be offloaded to put someone who has no history, related experience and on and on in place, because it looks good? Who exactly is going to be able to walk right up to the table and proceed with any sort of competence?

WHO?

YOU?

ME?

Jeff lost his position as Sec/Treas. His position as contract negotiator was never up for vote. Now he can focus soley on the one without the politics of the other.

We will see about that. Call up AFA 66 and what? Swap recipes for Christmas cookies!?

**RING**Hi is this Jeff at AFA 66, the one convicted by AFA ethics of lifting documents that didn't belong to you in negotiations?

YES, it is.

What is your stance on the AIL, Sick Time, VAC days and RSV. Oh and
Just wondering if you liked Jelly Thumbprint Cookies with Raspberry or Cherry?

What is the AIL?

I take that as Raspberry.

Please. Just hold on as the East will have it's say.

Please. Just hold on as the East will have it's say.

Sure! We've been holding for 4+ years, working under a substandard bankruptcy (x2) contract. What's a few more years while AFA continues their childish infighting? I bet the Company can't stop laughing at the AFA. Saving $$$ every day that the AFA circus delays the negotiations process.

Take your time, guys....

I'm done going back and forth. Nothing I can say will sway misguided eager beavers on the East or clearly former AW slanted people bitter about merger mindsets. Chat amoungs yourselves I have things to do. No one else cares why should I? Oh that should be the new AFA motto! LOL

That didn't stop you, and others, from tossing in opinions, some rather pointed, about what members of LEC 66 should or should not do regarding the recall vote. Enlighten me, what would be the reaction of any of the East domiciles if folks from LEC 66 started to pointedly provide advice and opinions on how folks should vote and/or conduct themselves in connection with internal union matters. I suspect that the phrase would possibly be "Get the (fill in the blank) outta here.

I have one more gem for you. I am not a supported of Lisa. I honestly don't ever recall having met her. I did know Doreen and regret what has occurred concerning what happened. I think I have met Jeff, but would not know him if I met him. This, for me, isn't personal. It is about letting the folks involved settle their own issues without outside incendiary opinions of what they must do and to whom.

The voting is done. Whether we like the results or not is another matter. Fact is, we must now move on. Let 66 deal with their problems, re-elect new members and continue the process. The process being a joint contract. As has been stated by sooooo many posts on this board, the contract IS being negotiated (albeit) very slowly but meticulasley (not sure if I spelled that right). As another Christmas is about to take place, more closures of bases, huge layoffs announced, A/C being parked, don't you think it is time to quit worrying who did what to whom and why. There are much bigger problems than 66 ahead of us.

Mergers and Acquisitions will soon be a hot topic of conversation on this board. All of which will effect those who still have a job at this company. We will all need to buckle down and really look at the big picture and come up with proper solutions to what ever comes our way. Of which, getting our mutual contract in order, to make future mergers possible...

MF has a daunting task ahead of him. Do I give up the bid sheet and seperate with the pilots in leau of a better working contract for the F/A's. Let me bottom line it for you....

In place of the Bid Sheet AND Staying with the pilots...

MF would have us recieve much more in benefits... Higher pay wages, better vacation, proper sick time, Pref Bidding (which would increase the amount of block holders and secondary line holders ten fold) -meaning less RSV's, and work rules that are better than we have now. It is a carrot that cannot be overlooked because we don't want to change...

So now you have to ask yourself TWO questions...

Am I happy enough now, and do I want to continue with the present way of doing things?.....

Or

Do we seperate, and get back alot of what we lost in BKx2?....

That my friends is the reality of it all....

Fundamental Change or Status Quo...

We will all have to make tough choices... Look at a new CBA... Make an informed decision... And by all means use your head.. not your heart...

Just my opinion...

I want a contract just as soon as anyone else. That does NOT excuse the fact that Jeff was recalled yet is STILL in the office as per Lisa. I don't care in WHAT fashion or role he should NOT be in the office. To me this is Lisa saying, "I don't care what the membership voted for....he'll work in the office to do whatever "I" need him to do". It's total BS. As for "moving on", YES this does need to pass but it doesn't make it right. He and his character have shown me that "I" don't want him at the negotiation table. I don't want HER there either but the recall allowes her to stay. It DID NOT allow Jeff to stand yet per Lisa he will. TOTAL BS. 🙄

He is no longer Secretary treasurer. But he is still a member of this union. And as such is allowed to contribute to the best of his ability. Also, per constitution and bylaws Lisa, as President, is allowed to delegate as she sees fit. And she is, not just to Jeff, but to anyone willing to step up and do the work. And seeing as how 3 officers were recalled, what do you expect? That she do all the work? There will be new officers in February, until then, should everything stop in its tracks? Throughout this whole recall process there has been a lot of "get em out, get em out" and not a single pro recall person ever said "we can replace Lisa, Doreen, Jeff, and Tim with..." As for his being in negotiations, any member in good standing can be on the negotiations team. But, since you don't want Jeff there, despite nearly half the membership voting against his recall, and Doreen abandoning the post, who would you like to see at the table?

If I were a PHX based flight attendant I would be screaming. That man was recalled and he should NOT under any circumstances be collecting pay from the membership that voted him out. The ethics board found him guilty of theft and lying about it the membership decided he needed to go and because she (Lisa) barely escape recall herself chooses to keep him on he stays...What a crock!

I am a PHX based Flight Attendant and I am screaming.

GIVE IT A #@^^# REST ALREADY!

To be quite honest I'm getting QUITE sick of having folks who don't care to see past their own nose tell me what I should and should not be upset about.

When you come down and fully educate yourself on the facts beyond what you read here and what you're told by your 'ooh guess what I heard...' fan club then I might be willing to entertain why I should be more upset than I am that a seasoned member of the negotiating team remains to end this bloodshed that is a merger faster.

Until then... the comments from the peanut gallery are as amusing as always.

So much for the I'm Dreaming of a White CHristmas thread.....stomps feet...

I am sure the company isn't too excited over it anyway. A whole 33.5% actually had the strength to pick up the phone to vote on a recall! Not that our voting numbers are ever any better over here on the east. I also expect our annual scare letter regarding holiday sick calls from the company will be posted by tomorrow. On bright paper. I'll pick mine up on Thursday.
