So a memo went out to the 757/767 pilots system-wide.... saying that AFT galleys would be removed on all 757s, WTF?!? How can this be?! We need every bit of that galley, especially on our ETOPS birds, can anyone clarify?!?!?

I saw all aft galley ovens to be removed, but not the whole galley. hhhmmmmm

Before going crazy with rumors and speculation ... here's an idea... look it up....

... the removal of the aft ovens on all narrowbody aircraft is expected to begin shortly….this will
also be accomplished in phases with Phase 1 being the actual removal of the ovens and a capping off of the
connectors (however, a rather large opening will now be present in the aft galley!!!) and Phase 2 will include
providing for a compartmentalized unit being placed where the ovens are today. We will watch this phase
closely as we don’t want to just replace one weighted item for another weighted item unless there is
something of value and use that we can place there. If the decision is made to leave this space empty, a
cover is planned to be placed over the opening.

How about a ATM machine since we have to pay for everything? I would love to see the US Airways surcharge on that. $20.00 for $20.00 cash, $1 million for $100.00 cash, thank you for flying US Airways.

What about a vending machine? It sounds tacky or cheap, but there doesn't seem to be any shame for this airline to go in that direction? A $1.00 for a bag of chips, candy bar, pack of gum, sedatives for middle seat passengers to get through the flight. It could work.

A crew bag storage area away from general passenger bags would be a great idea. The weight is already accounted for.

That idea was suggested about 30 years ago by Piedmont Captain Russell Grass when he was b******g about having to wait for our crew of flight attendants to show up. I would quote him directly, but that would be worth a 90 day trip to the cornfield.

Is this on all 75s or the domestic ones?

How are the ETOPs 75s configured? I've yet to see one or be on one. And, while I'm at it, how many are ETOPs configed? Are the exclusively on TATL or do they get domestic hops too? Those would be good planes to act in a premium level service for Transcons (PHL-LAX, PHL-SFO, etc.).

With a lock on it! A few of the MD-80s and 737s had lockable overheads, but it always seemed like I was the only one to use them.

Not just you on the 737s...I've had some pax steal stuff from my bags when I was with JetBlue so don't worry...just start toting your crew bag around in some inflight approved heavy duty plastic bag or something.

That space would work great as crew bag stowage. Then we wouldn't have to worry about pax going through our stuff. I remember a flight from AMS a few years back on the 767. Some guy in row 4, yes Envoy, grabbed one of the F/As tote bags and took everything out and sorted it on the floor. He got caught when a F/A saw him looking through the manual. I have had people take my bag so many times, I lost count.

I fly as a regular PAX these days, but the thing that bugs me to this day is when someone feels they have the right to wedge a bunch of crap on top of my bag.

The strangest thing I saw one time was when a girl on my crew had a hand-made Christmas ornament thingie tied to the handle of her bag. Some weirdo removed it and took it back to his seat to play with it. He wouldn’t give it back to her, so I had to intervene.

Well I know that they are putting in new galley's on the 75E's (ETOPS 757's) so maybe that is what you saw. I'm sure that they are not removing the galley's on the 757's.

Ewww....What a creep!

Why not remove all seats all together and have straps that hang from the ceiling and you can cram more people on the bus! You get more people in and heck no seats equals less weight.

Parker and his bunch is a freaking joke!
