AFT Galley Removal

Why not remove all seats all together and have straps that hang from the ceiling and you can cram more people on the bus! You get more people in and heck no seats equals less weight.

Parker and his bunch is a freaking joke!

I'm sure this bunch would if they could. I'm surprised they haven't tried to remove a lav to get 3 more seats on there.

That idea was suggested about 30 years ago by Piedmont Captain Russell Grass when he was b******g about having to wait for our crew of flight attendants to show up. I would quote him directly, but that would be worth a 90 day trip to the cornfield.
U R the vending machine.... LOL BHWHAHAHAHAHAH 🙄

How about bench seating like they do on C17 transports?

How about getting rid of the Cargo Bins and start setting up a two floor level seating...pay $35 to get "upper deck"...then US can actually say their A320 series are double decked...sheesh...

Before going crazy with rumors and speculation ... here's an idea... look it up....

... the removal of the aft ovens on all narrowbody aircraft is expected to begin shortly….this will
also be accomplished in phases with Phase 1 being the actual removal of the ovens and a capping off of the
connectors (however, a rather large opening will now be present in the aft galley!!!) and Phase 2 will include
providing for a compartmentalized unit being placed where the ovens are today. We will watch this phase
closely as we don’t want to just replace one weighted item for another weighted item unless there is
something of value and use that we can place there. If the decision is made to leave this space empty, a
cover is planned to be placed over the opening.
Northwest did this when I was still there. We (mx) pulled all of the ovens out of the narrow bodies in 2004/2005. Makes for nice F/A storage after take-off...

Is this on all 75s or the domestic ones?

How are the ETOPs 75s configured? I've yet to see one or be on one. And, while I'm at it, how many are ETOPs configed? Are the exclusively on TATL or do they get domestic hops too? Those would be good planes to act in a premium level service for Transcons (PHL-LAX, PHL-SFO, etc.).

sometimes the etops 757s do morning runs to florida and the caribbean

a trip to the cornfield does wonders for your social life and somehow it makes your house sparkle as well. I also washed my car, vacuumed it, and saved three burning orphanages. Don't knock it, yo.

OK, I'm just a dumb pax.

So Tempe wants to remove weight from its a/c and the ovens are gonna go on the 757. Not a problem since food service is a thing of the past even for transcons; or they can get by with a cold service on those flights. But TA flights are a different thing in my book and so too is the caliber of service/product required to play the TA game. Are you telling me that they're not gonna be able to serve hot meals on your ETOP routes to Europe, or is Tempe gonna cram that task into the front galley ( or am I incorrect to assume that Envoy has a seperate galley on these birds? ).

Just looking for a little clarity here as I try to figure out how the brains function at the highest levels of Tempe. I guess that ripping out an oven is an easy and relatively low cost solution. Then again, if Tempe removed a few rows of seats, they could improve seat pitch for the slave galley ( also known as coach ) and reduce weight. Now for those who would butt in and say that this reduces revenue, my answer is that a truely innovative airline would recognize that they could gradually jack prices if they came up with service commensurate with the price such as removing some seats and replacing them with a small array of better pitch seats sold and marketed as coach premium for say 90 bucks more a pop. There does indeed exist some folks who will fork over some cash for better seat pitch. Of course they're the same folks who would also want a hot meal on that TA ETOPs flight. If Tempe ever wakes up and puts the word "customer" into their lexicon, then they might just weather the storm. If by chance Tempe ever listens to my suggestioni, all I want is a finders fee for this "unique" concept which entitles me to such perks as an honest shot at an Envoy UG or bookings which do not delete my wife's DM from her itinerary requiring her to chase down the miles as as has just happened.

Increasing seat pitch used to always be a money losing issue (Look at what AA did over the last few yrs), however with fuel what it is now you might midigate some of the ASM loss with a fuel cost benefit, but the real question is will that drive any extra people to fly.

guys, guys, guys!!!! chill out !! ovens will only be taken off the airbus narrow body fleet. all ovens on a330 and etops 757's will remain.

Extra people, to fill the seats you just took out? Where are you going to put the extras?

If your post represents the thought process that goes on in Tempe, than I am quite surprised this group has lasted as long as it has.

Yeah, forget Tempe!

Let's just get the old management in here. The same management that run US AIR into the ground TWICE!

I need to buy that captain a beer, I said the EXACT same thing about the vending machines and never met him. What's his name again? I wanna look him up.
