Airways hiring Dept

Its funny, I used to be the best employee. I never called in sick and always came out to the airport to fly trips that were being cancelled due to Dayton's staffing incompetence. Now, I am using all of my sick time and probably will quit without notice.

PSA does not deserve two weeks notice and they don't deserve a pilot like me anymore. Frankly, I cannot take their lousy abusive schedules anymore either.

I used to watch crew news religiously now I could not care less. What ever happened to our ghost seniority numbers? The combined eligibility list?

Merry Christmas US Airways!

Its been a lousy eight years and YOU SUCK.

I have no comment on US Airways hiring policy, and wish you nothing but the best in your career. But understand this, the PSA pilots (as a group) treated our J4J guys like crap, and leading that effort was your Chairman Stanley. Sorry about the baby getting thrown out.... but if we can prevent even one of the jerks that mistreated our own guys (flying their OWN routes) who were treated so badly, I have no problem with not a single PSA pilot ever getting on our "YOU SUCK" list.Happy Holidays,Greeter

The shinny jet syndrome is wearing off. PSA whipsawed to a lower rate just to kept PDT from being able to fly the fantastic crj 200/700

I agree, those that had animosity towards J4J's were lifers at PSA.
we have a bit over 500 pilots. 300 weren't even here when the last J4J left. (2008).
100 of us were f/o's that got to fly with them and it was great to learn from those with thousands of hours experience.
I'm sorry that some of J4J's got the raw end of the deal. But some won the lottery, like the Mid Atlantic pilots.

As for our CRJ200/700/900 pay. We are middle of the road. Mesa, Pinnacle and Go Jets are the ones killing the industry. US Airways 190 rates are poverty inducing.

Never work at the commuter for the mainline carrier you wish to gain employment, unless there is a written flow through agreement.

Some of us were sad to see them go. I don't like the lifers any more than you did. I'd be glad to see the place shut down...I'm doing my part 🙂

There were plenty of new hires with 400 hours +- that flatly stated we were in "Their" seat. The animosity was not relegated to just the lifers......

Ummm...yea...there was...we were told this in the interview.

Unfortunately the attempt at a flow through was tried multiple times. Arguments on both sides each time. Whearas with the J4J deal, was the closest it came to being actually instituted. Even with that, it was in the agreement, but never formally finalized, I think what killed it that time was PDT not really allowing or wanting the MDA CEL guys that flowed there to flow back when MDA was finished.

Bottom line was the whole SJ program with J4J was done to simply get the outsourcing completed, with little regard to what was to happen after the fact. They wanted the cheap labor to fly the small jets.......and they got it. PSA undercut PDT and Henson to get those shiny things. Sorta like how they tried to undercut Mesa on 900 rates to get those.......How'd that work out?

36 of us voted "NO" to the 900 deal. Mainly because we were in contract negotiations and if they wanted new rates then they should have put it in a new contract. That was the last time we had any kind of control, and we pissed it away.

For 400hr right seat guys telling you that you were in their seat? If i was you, i would just tell them to STFU and do the walk around.

Now the Mid Atlantic guys.....They were PDT f/o's that went to Mid Atlantic then somehow came to PSA after several months. Actually i think it was over a year after the last J4J came over that the first Mid Atlantic pilot came. They were all offered Captain slots. Even though most of them had never been a Captain before. But all that is water under the bridge.
The intent of this post is to inform you, mainline pilots, that you are getting subpar pilots. The HR dept should not be doing the hiring. It should all be done by pilots. Maybe use HR to do the background checks and reference checks. But that is all.
Anyway he will be your problem in a month.

Gabby said earlier today: "100 of us were f/o's that got to fly with them and it was great to learn from those with thousands of hours experience. "

After my harsh accounting of the situation, what a nice thing for you to say! I was not "there" but lots of great guys I know were.

Thanks,

Greeter

Just to set the record straight... All the CEL pilots that went to MDA were captains at ALG or PDT. The flowthru never got to the FO's... A lot of the junior pilots were FO's when they actually came over, but they were captains at one time before the downsizing. It was the flowthru that prevented furloughs... Anyway, the point is that there were no pilots that came through that "had never been a captain"...

PDT actually had it in writing. If I recall, the company said that because nobody from mainline signed it, they weren't required to observe the agreement.
