Heard there were quite a few America West folks at the Res center today......Anybody got any information?

Just saw them being escorted around, not quite sure who they were.....just looked like regular folks not "management."

One of the departments was told not to eat any food in their work area today.....how silly is that?

I hear the operations center eat at their desks like scared animals all the time. Most don't get to leave their area for lunch. Imagine what that looks like on occasion.
I don't think eating at a designated area was to much to ask for a day.

Young VPs can be good. They might want to run this place and build a better mouse trap.

Haven't been exposed to gross pilfering such as the talent.

Still young enough to have a dream and live it.

Were they mtc? Heard the big wigs in mtc went to PHX this week. Maybe they needed them out of town while the new kids on the tarmac came to visit. Wonder if they gave them opportunities to interview for their jobs?

There were HP folks in CLT today as well. They were being escorted by US Airways Club managers.

Waiting for the ax to fall on INT res next.... Whos going to pay res agents in INT 17 and hour when they have them in RNO and PHX making 13.10?

There were HP VP's today at PHL, and they're supposed to be roaming around the next couple of days as well.

like they said . they were gonna focus on moving it right along after the 30 day bidding process was complete

Having been through this sort of thing during my "corporate America" days, let me warn you to be on the lookout for "trips to Phoenix" by U employees. If they don't happen then that will tell you something about how the merger is going to go down. If there are no mutual trips to PHX by U employees, it will not be good for the U side of the house.

I had already left by then, but when Chevron and Texaco "merged", the combined company was called ChevronTexaco. When I said this word to one of my friends still working there, her response was "Jim, you're mispronouncing the name of the new company. The Texaco is silent." 3 years down the road, they have dropped the Texaco from the name, and almost all the people I knew from the Texaco side have been forced out of their jobs one way or another.

Was told some HP people were in TPA today, at least looking at the baggage area (not sure where else they were scoping.) They listened to the agents about the problems we have with our office (its next to DL and very often you have a hard time getting to it because of the number of DL bags in the way in front of the office). HP is currently handled by CO on a month to month basis and they have been told they will probably be losing them shortly. Lets hope they take a good look at all areas and listen to the people working there to see where the problems are and what can be done to improve things (for employees and customers) in each city.

You have to remember that HP agents are negotiating their first contract. I'm fairly certain they arent going to accept the current $13.10/hr WITH representation. Also, this merger thing has been in the works with HP for 2? years or so. Why do you think the company started the agents negotiations at the HP payscale? I would be surprised if the HP people didnt give a wink wink at the $17 topout. If they knew they were going to be doing something soon, I cant see the company (and especially mr glASS) agreeing to something that would be a problem in getting the merger completed.

Doug Parker really looks young and like a regular person. You won't see him in a 3 piece suit. He's really great. Joe Beery is also very nice and looks younger than the usual VP. He's kinda short, balding and a very nice smile. Sounds to me like some of who visited you. Smile at them and say hi. They'll tell you who they are.
