What's new

America West At Winston Res Center

wel now interesting comments by all......well yes the Hp groups is younger than U, but then again ask yourself this, Do you want a bunch of old cronies that pocket your money running the New U? lol New U, sounds like a self help book, ha!

and you are going to see A LOT more HP in the stations that both HP & U serve. Space, consolidation, remember you can get out of a lease in BK....$$ folks, we all ahve to save as much money as possible and airport rent is extremely expensive. This is a serious savings, not to mention a necessaity in as we become one.

Oh, it was nice to hear that some ppl are happy to see us, you should say hi, HP ppl don't bite..

I work in PHX Operations and dont worry we have had our fair shair of US people checking things out and from my understanding we expecting quite a bit more

Doug Parker really looks young and like a regular person. You won't see him in a 3 piece suit. He's really great. Joe Beery is also very nice and looks younger than the usual VP. He's kinda short, balding and a very nice smile. Sounds to me like some of who visited you. Smile at them and say hi. They'll tell you who they are.

Dont let their young ages fool you into thinking that they are going to go easy on you . They are in the business of making money. Huge amounts of money. And you dont rake in millions of dollars a day at reservations by paying the employees a healthy wage.

At phoenix reservations , the term "sweatshop" is the only thing to come to mind. I am an eight year agent and get only 2.5 weeks vacation and make only $9.31 an hour...thats it ..... 😱 But you should see what kind of calls we have to take for that small amount of money...we are not taking the same "kind" of call after call, like you US air res agents. We are a "onestop" reservation center. which means we take ALL different types of calls from pax. Non-rev, standby calls, international calls, change in e-ticket calls, flight fund calls, domestic sales calls, etc, etc......Do you us air agents do the SAME thing.....I think not! I called your non-rev line and got someone in manilla and then got another person in mexico........So you us air employees are making more money by doing less work........

Me think you speaketh out of your *ss....... :censored: :bleh:

US agents do take a mix of calls too......prior to Mexico, Manilla and San Salvador, US agents handled new bookings, reissues, awards, intl, tlc (bodies) to name a few for all passengers, US agents now do this for mostly Preferred members. They are also busy fixing all the errors from Mexico and Manilla. Plus trying to assist with website support as no one can understand the people from SanSalvador who also cannot read a bag claim so the US agents are handling those too.

But hopefully someone from HP will read this and investigate the outsourced offices. There is no way to know how much they are costing US at present time.

Oh I have checked them out. Can't understand them and get really wrong information.

Not a great way to start a merger of Res Agents with the new combined company with this type of comment.

All of the agents that are left at US res are working their butts off just to keep some sense of pride in our profession. It was bad enough to have as much as a 26% paycut late last year, but, to have to now answer every call knowing you're probably going to have a blind transfer from one of the outsourced offices, then apologize for the way the other agent handled the call prior to the transfer, and then to fix all of the mistakes that they make.....believe me, we do work very hard for much less money than our conterparts at other carriers.

By the way...wait until you have to start taking the Star Alliance calls for both revenue and award reservations...they're no picnic either...especially for Int'l award travel.

Now play nice with your fellow res agents. We're in this together.

This week alone, we, USAirways lost 7 pax to other carriers. A friend of mine had a death in the family and when checking on bereavement rates got an outsourced office. Not only was it difficult to understand the agent, but wrong info was given along with wrong fares. When calling back the next day (as told they were told they couldn't book more than 24 hrs in advance of travel), the fare quoted was gone. We all know that fares can change...but incorrect info was given on the first call... Needless to say all 7 flew other carriers in what is one of our largest markets. It is a shame...I spent a good part of last night apologizing.

Drifter,
Would you care to comment on phxres post about the working conditions in the Tempe res center? The reason why Im asking is you keep telling everyone on this forum how good things are in the reservations center and how Doug takes care of his people.

I am extremely happy to have Doug Parket at the helm because he cares about his employees and this airline.
Truth is not only is the Tempe res center a sweatshop but the Ramp and Customer Service are just as bad but you keep posting otherwise giving the employees of US Air a false sense of hope. Dont you think these people have a right to know how management at AWA really treat their employees?
